Rain In My Heart by Edgar Lee Masters
There is a quiet in my heart
Like on who rests from days of pain.
Outside, the sparrows on the roof
Are chirping in the dripping rain.
Rain in my heart; rain on the roof;
And memory sleeps beneath the gray
And the windless sky and brings no
dreams
Of any well remembered day.
I would not have the heavens fair,
Nor golden clouds, nor breezes
mild,
But days like this, until my heart
To loss of you is reconciled.
I would not see you. Every hope
To know you as you were has
ranged.
I, who am altered, would not find
The face I loved so greatly changed.

Created in DDG from my source below which utilized Kathy's two sources below it, using the prompt: On hallowed ground. An eerie spirit. Processed in Photoshop Beta 2023 v 25.1. Topaz Gigapixel AI, Topaz Studio to alter the size, texture, color, glow, shadows, and highlights. This is 3 layers in total. Some hand painting to take out a third foot and fix trees and modify the shadow below and behind the spirit.
Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments.
This is the Black-Tailed Godwit - Limosa limosa - in its winter plumage, (in summer it has a bright orangey-brown chest and belly), the white wingbars remain at all times. It is a large wading bird, approx 40-44 cm long with a wingspan of 70-82 cm, which eats mainly insects, worms and snails but will also take small insects like beetles and grasshoppers and some plants. There are just 53 (approx) breeding pairs in the UK, the remaining population arriving during winter months from the Icelandic region. It is also the national bird of the Netherlands. This one was seen at Martin Mere Wetlands.

here's the most recent picture of me & my mom... we were snorkeling together in Grand Cayman last spring!
The Alter Lily is very thinly scattered throughout the country, but it is most common in the Southwest and the far Southeast.
It is from the family Araceae
Although seen in gardens it is classed as a seasonal wildflower growing from May to September and this one was on some wasteland.
My Thanks to all who visit and comment it is appreciated
