I discovered a fantastic setup of an Alien world. A must see: Planet by Cica Ghost. Unfortunately it will be removed next Friday 19th of February. So visit fast.
This is the version with the original windlight, the way the artist Cica Ghost wants her work to be presented. So I happily do that, also to preserve her work at least in Flickr.
An alien dropped by on my Cosmos plant. These darn Western Spotted Cucumber Beetles are bad news. So far only one.

30 years ago today, Aliens, one of my favorite films of all time was released.
And 30 days ago, Tim Lydy, one of my favorite builders of all time, 'upgraded' my Olymous Mons display at Brickworld Chicago with his incredible Alien Queen, Xenomorph, chest burster, egg and facehugger.
I don't know if he intended to fit so well into the display, or if I subconciously made a very aliens style room ... but it certainly fit.
Definitely one of the coolest things at BW :)

One of favorite places in the badlands. I have been there enough times I no longer need a gps to find it.
That's a good thing, because both our gps go nuts in this area. They give you the direction, than in just seconds it reverses 180 degrees. I know that's hard to believe, but it happened. I have heard the more expensive gps don't have the problem.
I read a story recently about a photographer at a Grand Canyon viewpoint running around and telling everyone to put their cameras away after the sun set. Which is crazy. But perhaps he was hoping everyone would go away and allow him to enjoy the glorious sky, alone.
So, if you want to photograph amazing skies, hang around after sunset. Don't be too quick to leave, or you may miss something truly extraordinary.

Got the big black separator few months back, but totally forgot about it. Since I read Simon's article on New Elementary about the LEGO Art The Sith set, I wanted to build something with it.
I was thinking about Space Jam and what should I build for it and the idea came almost instantly, the shape really gave me the alien vibe and here it is. Not a Space Jam entry though :D
... there is a simpler explanation: the headlights of a car have lit the hill while I was taking this long-exposure shot of the Big Dipper. The streaks are just clouds shining because of the light-pollution of a nearby village :D
