it was gross today all humid and sunny and then it would randomly pour rain for like ten minutes. it was actually great i loved it haha.

and i thought i'd use this big old trunk that apparently was my mom's. grandpa dropped it off in our garage while they were here for my grad party.

so i took this in our very badly lighted garage.

it turned out alright. i kinda like it. kinda don't.

i took 21 pictures in this shoot. this was the very first one. and the rest turned out like crap. i was kinda ticked. oh well.

work went well. and then while closing i cleaned out the artic rush machine thingy. and stained my hands all different colors from the flavors. ahahaha. the end.

Yesterday I played with photoshop since a long time.

The reason was this photo of my daughter.

She was here with her friend for a short photoshoot for a movieposter of a play they will perform next month.

This shot was a lucky one, and did not make the selection.

But it gave me a nice pic to play with.

But now I don't know which one to choose.

Today, I was at the dentist's office.

for this photo i came up with this concept this afternoon. to me it means that this girl is afraid to show her face because she is embarrassed by it. I put the american flag around her head because it represents that we should all be treated equally because in the end we are all americans.

May 2010 is Philippines' national election for a new president and leaders for our motherland. our vote puts this child's future at risk. Let God lead us as we vote wisely Pinoys!

Hello and hello.

It is BatmanDay, everywhere, that is what they say, therefore also in Gravesend, where there are many Batmans.

Arbroath Smokey Batman has not ever met a Troll and is scared. And shy.

"Aiieee !" he says,

The Troll is able to reassure him, using the Vulcan Mind Meld, and so the Arbroath Smokey Batman learns many things that, before, he did not know, some of them quite strange. But he is all the better for it.

In later life he will reflect upon this.

Walk Tall !

This is my first time using the quilting foot to quilt. The feed dogs are down and ready.

A sudden push of adrenaline courses through my veins.

I get up and run.

Flight or Sew.

I practiced.

I am afraid to relinquish control to my untrained and unsteady hands.

Will I ruin it?

Maybe I should make a sandwich.

Peanut butter courage.

Maybe I'll get the mail.

I sit and stare.

I can always do it by hand.

what if? I mess it up?

ruin it?

make a mistake?

What am I afraid of? I ask myself, turning off the radio, so I can hear myself answer.

Fear

I am not afraid, little red yells to the wolf waiting in the rose bushes...

This is worse than a blank page.

I have never felt afraid to sew before.

This machine it goes too fast.

what if?

well here goes nothing!

Never be afraid

of following your dreams

starting an impromptu conversation

of being creative

or of loving with your whole heart

or leaving a note just saying your true thoughts

Never be scared

to show someone you care

to show off something you have accomplished

that you will never be good enough

or that you won't ever suceed.

because the reality is, you are good enough,

people do care about you, and how you treat them,

you can follow your dreams, and lift someone just by

a kind word or deed.

only,

believe,

and never

ever

give up.

This is my first 'real' retouch. At first I didn't want to use one my own pictures because I was afraid that it would look too plastic. (and now you all can see how I look without any editing haha) But I used my own picture anyway and I think it turned out pretty good, especially because this was my first time. It's not perfect but that doesn't matter. I'm not sure if I will do this again because it took me a few hours! And I'm not a patient person at all! :p

You can see the rollover version over here on my deviantart.

These two cracked me up ... once I figured out who they were cosplaying and what they were up to. Cosplays from the TV show Naked & Afraid. Kudos to both of the cosplayers for creativity and commitment to a skit.

The internal brief was simple; use only black and white, work only during a limited amount of time and collage found imagery to create something punk and maybe even a little 'evil' for an exploratory series we like to call 'Apocalyptic Visions'.

This series is ongoing. Expect more. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Aurora over Norrie Lake, WI. Just what I was afraid of . . . the aurora had died down by the time I got to my spot on a local lake. It sure didn't help that I had made a wrong turn in the dark and had to take the "long way around" to get to the lake - I could have been there 15 minutes earlier and probably caught the end of the bright substorm.
