Atticus is up in the mountains now and insists on wearing his coon skin hat. He loves chasing the raccoons here but has never come close to harming them, since he can't run near their speed. He just wanted to make sure everyone knows that this hat is fake fur. He knows how sensitive his humans are and in this household, everyone loves all animals. Well, almost all animals.....he knows I am very much afraid of sharks.

This hare (Lepus europaeus) is running towards me. Moments and a few stops later it was sitting only two metres (six and a half US feet) away from me. After a short while it quietly went on. I heard about it only last week. 'We have this hare that is not afraid of humans.' We know the hare as shy and afraid and are puzzled by this strange behaviour.

When I saw Galahs in my yard today, I cautiously stepped into the yard, expecting they would fly away. They just looked at me, giving me the impression they already knew who I was, and they weren't afraid. They moved around the perimeter fence and seemed to survey me and the environment. Perhaps they were looking for a particular variety of seed, such as Sunflower seeds. If I passed muster, they will surely be back tomorrow and every day thereafter.
