Last Saturday night the fire department got called out to a house fire. Luckily they saved the house but allot of smoke damage and water damage. Everyone got out safe and sound. 16* and very sad. Here was one of the fireman on the second floor checking with someone below. When I got there flames were shooting out that window. God Bless fireman too. My husband is going on his 49 year with this department.
At the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, New York Botanical Garden for their orchid show a couple of weeks ago. Cloudy, but still lovely.
I love the name of this town. Paisley.
It does not get any better than that.
History is a lovely thing.
Happy Window Wednesday
I love me a good train station in the old fashion variety. Not many of them left anymore.
Happy Window Wednesday
An Antique shop closed out this spring and now the new store is open a Selfie Studio, There are many stage booths in this shop for premo selfies? How long can this last??? I guess I will wait and see how this goes over. Window Wednesday frame this week, squeaky clean and ready for business.
Down in Hamilton Ontario along Barton St. I love driving down Barton. It may seem a bit rougher down there but I used to play in a country band along there and grew fond of the people and location.
Happy Window Wednesday
For a ‘ordinary’ parish church, this one is much bigger and grander than most with plenty of stained glass windows!
I look but I don't venture inside. There is an overwhelming sadness as I see traces of everyday life. Empty jars, books thrown about, and the refrigerator door hangs open. An empty mug sits on a table. I'm sure that it once offered the comfort of a hot cup of tea.
I always wonder what stories these old homes hold. Mostly good, some bad. And of course there is the final story. It is the one I don't want to know. The one that left this house seeing better days.
A few weeks ago we went on an "Artists' Tour" and came across a wonderful pottery studio on the most eclectic piece of property!
I think this was the *guest house* (once upon a time) which has become more of a storage area in need of some TLC . . .
"Some day" said the potter . . .
"Some day I'll get around to fixing it up again!"
For Window Wednesday
I'm still sorting through some old photos, every now and again I'm finding one I quite like. HWW
My stars I have some cool shots sitting in the library. I do not know how I passed over these. I amaze myself sometimes.

This shop on Appleton Gate, here in Newark had to relocate to bigger premises a few years ago. He does a lot of business by mail-order and, as he told me, sells quite a bit overseas so if you are searching for that special LP contact him! Lots of other bits and pieces on sale as well.
Named reluctant window out of frustration as this image would not upload to Flickr, then hours later four copies popped up! Anyway, it's a window from inside looking out.
Captured at Leach Botanical Garden for Window and Wall Wednesday. HWW everyone!
And for 122 pictures in 2022 #114 White Building.
And for Gorgeous Green Thursday. HGGT everyone!
I used to like going for late nigt walks because sometimes you can get a small glimpse into places or homes. It is like a secret place that only you can see a bit of.
This place is the Public Library not so secret.
Happy Window Wednesday
I first took this window back in August, 2013. I revisited this weekend.
A little place called Polvadera in Socorro County.
The meaning of polvadera in English is dust.
