I look but I don't venture inside. There is an overwhelming sadness as I see traces of everyday life. Empty jars, books thrown about, and the refrigerator door hangs open. An empty mug sits on a table. I'm sure that it once offered the comfort of a hot cup of tea.
I always wonder what stories these old homes hold. Mostly good, some bad. And of course there is the final story. It is the one I don't want to know. The one that left this house seeing better days.
A few weeks ago we went on an "Artists' Tour" and came across a wonderful pottery studio on the most eclectic piece of property!
I think this was the *guest house* (once upon a time) which has become more of a storage area in need of some TLC . . .
"Some day" said the potter . . .
"Some day I'll get around to fixing it up again!"
My stars I have some cool shots sitting in the library. I do not know how I passed over these. I amaze myself sometimes.
Happy Window Wednesday
One of the establishments in the historic downtown of Micanopy, FL.

This shop on Appleton Gate, here in Newark had to relocate to bigger premises a few years ago. He does a lot of business by mail-order and, as he told me, sells quite a bit overseas so if you are searching for that special LP contact him! Lots of other bits and pieces on sale as well.
Named reluctant window out of frustration as this image would not upload to Flickr, then hours later four copies popped up! Anyway, it's a window from inside looking out.
I used to like going for late nigt walks because sometimes you can get a small glimpse into places or homes. It is like a secret place that only you can see a bit of.
This place is the Public Library not so secret.
Happy Window Wednesday
I first took this window back in August, 2013. I revisited this weekend.
A little place called Polvadera in Socorro County.
The meaning of polvadera in English is dust.

This is inside the lighthouse keeper's cottage - the framed picture is of George B. Jackson, he and his family lived here from 1933 to 1945 - he was the last keeper of the Tybee Island lighthouse.

Posted for Window Wednesdays.
This is actually a mailbox in Liberty, WA, a small "almost ghost town." The mailbox has tiny windows in it...and a balcony!
HWW!
One of the homes on the Belvedere Club in town. I'm always amazed at their flowers and how gorgeous this place is.
HWW too.
I actually do not remember where I took this shot. I believe it would be somewhere on the route to the music jam at the chalet. That is where I was recently. It does not really matter I guess.
Happy Window Wednesday
I was sitting and having coffee in my living room the other morning and I looked out and this nice doe was over in the neighbors eating her grass.
Window Wednesday.
