I still use this vintage nutmeg grater.

As i was working on my shots of different backdrops for Be Still I thought I could use one for TT.

This one had a white background, which i like a lot, but I added the textures: kk_yesteryear and kk_canvasbackmagic both by Kim Klassen.

The light at the end of the tunnel.

On a footpath up from the River Don in Oxspring the holly and elderberry bushes meet to create a tunnel of leaves

The sunlight and shadow gave this tree lovely shades of brown!

52/2015 - Give us your best shot - week 32

Theme of The Week - Experiment with Colour

We went to the seaside on Saturday, taking the train from Nottingham to Skegness. Not just any old train but the special train put on to ease summer overcrowding. Pulled by Class 47 locomotives with maroon coaches with windows that open. I spent most of the journey hanging out of an open window, something you can't often do in these days of modern air conditioned comfort.

This one says it all really. I love the sense of speed and freedom that is shown here.

For those with an interest in such things, the loco is 47851 'Traction magazine' or D1648 if you prefer.

See where this picture was taken. [?]

Frankly I do not know if this qualifies for the theme. Taken from inside my window.

for 7DoS: it makes my heart happy to be outside walking :)

Week 32 / 52 is "framed". I call this one The View From Above". It's a view that you very seldom get a chance to see. It's a 3 frame HDR shot in the projection booth of the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Vancouver. The blue lighting is from a single led above the spotlight & the stage lighting is tungsten balanced ambient. The frame was courtesy of Photoshop CC.

32/52: Multiple exposure

New photo locations, yay!

While I was taking this picture, two guys driving a black Mustang stopped and yelled something at me in French about "les photos!", gave me a peace sign and drove off. It then started to rain. (The two events are probably unrelated.)

I really wasn't sure what to do about the colors in this picture, so they're kinda weird.

Theme of The Week - Deconstructed Landscape

The theme for week 32 was Multiple Exposure.. Here I've used a selfie and a shot of the motherboard on my former computer.

"7 Days of Shooting" "Week #32" "Love or Loathe" "Texture Tuesday"...some grainy sugar textures. Love those valentines treats!

Late again so this is a recap of the past week - I am now into week 33!

Not looking as happy as I should in this pic as I had to use the point and shoot and I miss the Canon :(

my blog

Happy Sunday everyone! I've been tired and busy but I will get around to your streams soon.

This has been a winter without charm. Cold, grey, some ice, but no snow and no clear cold days with bright blue skies. I am ready for spring and so are the crocus that have scattered themselves on my lawn.

7DoS "All Your Heart Desires" "Colourful Thursday"

I failed to see of photograph shooting stars which I was hoping to do. I've taken a few fullish moon shots and have a few shots of the stars.

Last night and this morning is cloudy so I've run out of time.

I had to resort to making my own. This is two photos, one of stars and one of the moon, blended by picking out lightest pixel from the darker pixels and the darkest pixel from the lighter pixels in each photo.

This is the fifth and final post in my week 31-35 mini-theme contest. Previous posts are here, here, here, and here.

Recapping the rules:

The object is to guess what my mini-theme for weeks 31-35 is. I will make a $50 donation to the Point Roberts Library Building Fund in the name of the first person to guess correctly. That will get your name inscribed in the permanent donor record and, optionally, I'll throw in a personally guided tour of Point Roberts if you want.

I think we now have a winner. I'll discuss that in comments below. Thanks, everyone, for all of your clever guesses!

Cast and crew:

Director: Ed Park

Seamus: Ed Park

Driver: Annika Toohey

Director's personal assistant: Mia Silver

First assistant camera: Mia Silver

Set dressers: Annika Toohey, Mia Silver

Sound: Biggy Ruckus

For the Me Again Monday group: This week's theme is King Tut; maybe my picture is "tut-tut"?

This week's theme is On your way home

These day's I am not commuting as much as I was in the past, but I always feel so comfortable when on one. Seems the long commute to and from school left an indelible impression, one that our 2 kids now experience.

I banked this shot on the way to a work function, and glad I did as the return journey was standing room only, and I am not good at being discreet with the camera coming out.

52 in 2016 Challenge ... #10 ... food

After school snack for my Grandson. I bought these new glass bottles with straws. The boys are old enough now to use glassware so I can throw out those horrible old plastic ones. I bet Lachie ... the youngest ... will still look in the drawer for them.

This little boy was running back and forward filling his little beach bucket with water and indeed he was wet but he was enjoying himself!!

🍊 Runner-Up for 52F: Macro Theme

Macro photography is one of my favorite genres—it invites you to slow down and savor the details, much like a good cocktail. This week’s runner-up shot captures the beginning of my Old Fashioned ritual: a sugar cube soaking up bitters before the muddle. From there, it’s one shot of bourbon, a bit of ice, then the second pour. I finish it off with an orange garnish and a Luxardo cherry. If I’m feeling fancy, I swap the cube for a Demerara simple syrup—rich, warm, and just a little indulgent.

A flavorful drink, distilled down to one sweet little cube.

Week 32Vision: The Alphabet

Alphabet photography involves taking photographs of existing or created objects to create a word.

You may have noticed I've been a little scarce on Flickr lately... I've just got back from a short trip to London and had a great time! Going through my photos now, I think I may have caught a couple of goodies! :)

This is the Great Laxey Wheel here on the Island. It was such a beautiful day I couldn't pass up the chance to get outside and shoot some wider shots.

This is a last minute shot, last thursday we met with a black Labrador puppy, Nola, a new friend to be. Just didn't get any photo's because the garden was very shadowy, so difficult to photograph 2 dark dogs. I had hoped to get a photo of them meeting so i had to think of something else .

Paws always come in handy :) i added the filmstrip 4, it's from SkeletalMess aka Jerry Jones.

He has so many textures made available, just awesome work !!

So thanks Jerry for this one.

The one i used is not available on flickr but this:

leads to another one and a link to Jerry's site, check it out, awesome textures !!!

This old house has been in this state for a number of years which makes you really wonder, why? It most certainly is well past the "neglect" stage!!

I want to apologise for the lack of my being able to comment over the past weeks and this may continue for the next three weeks ~ we are moving home and have been very busy organising everything ... busy times!! However, when I get a moment I will do my best to comment

My original idea for this theme (which was a couple of weeks ago... late again!) was to do a multiple exposure of the Perseid meteor shower.... unfortunately, the skies in our area didn't co-operate :( Then I contemplated just skipping this theme, but that would be counter-productive to my reason for participating in this group, which is to force myself to stretch and try new things. So this was the alternate idea I came up with..... such as it is, late as it is!!

Week 32 of 52 in 2015. The theme is PANORAMA. The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins tonight at Turner Field. Our seats were in a great location to catch the sun setting behind the stadium.

52 weeks of 2019, week 32 Deconstructed landscape

Create a photo collage of photos from one area.

Try a new way to explore a landscape by creating a composite of multiple fragments of it that you’ve taken during a short walk. A 30 minute stroll is all you need. Keep your kit and settings simple, and don’t get bogged down with tripods, filters or complicated techniques. Shoot anything that catches your eye. When you’re back home, assemble your selection of pictures.

Three more of my dear friends in particular ... %-)

I love these little videos.... They make me smile! %-)

A little souvenir left by the ancients, perhaps from the nearby submerged Byzantine church or the nearby palace of Constantine or the nearby Senate building (the bit of 'land' sticking out into the water in the background)?

for 7DoS: Though I can now, thankfully, breathe through my nose again after a nasty head cold, I haven't had my camera out for a few days. This means I get to use another shot of my favourite local wall and I get to play catch up over the next couple of days :)

I love the delicate colouring of the outer petals.
