More apples. We're still eating them, there are still some on the tree, and it's (now) November!

I ran across the loading area and jumped in first - I am actually crammed up inside of the hollowed-out boat front.

Please keep in mind that I tend to hold smaller breweries at a higher standard. I expect the Brewmaster to have a vision which will blow my mind. I do tend to forget that smaller breweries are trying to grow their business, and have to appeal to the trends of the market in order to accomplish that. This is especially true for local breweries (& double that for my own home brew recipes).

The Avalanche from the Snoquamie Brewery is not the ultimate winter ale. Part of me was disappointed, but only for the above mention reasons. There is nothing bad about this ale…except it lacked carbonation (which could be on purpose in order to capture the traditional British ale feel, or do to the too short of time bottle conditioning).

It is brewed w/ Special B malts, so taste-wise it is good. The hops are present, but not dominate. I would even call it balanced. However, it didn’t blow my mind, and I think tonight I wanted exactly that.

Despite the bi-polarness of this review, I would recommend the Avalanche for a mid-week, unwind from work &/or holiday shopping treat.

These are two logos painted on the pavement at Märkesbacken. The yellow-ish logo is for MatNat, an association for mathematics and natural sciences students, and the lower logo is for SAKS, an association for system sciences students (I think)
