This would be yellower if it weren't so worn out and weathered.

"7 Days of Shooting" Week#32 "Architectural Details" "Simple Sunday"

Aug 7 - One of my most favorite spots on the planet is Sippewissett Marsh in Falmouth. I was able to get over there very early in the morning and was delighted to see some wonderful birds. There were loads of Semipalmated Plovers, almost more Osprey than Robins, a few Willets, many Sanderlings, and even some Ruddy Turnstones.

This Ruddy was much more interested in breakfast than me lying in the sand and had no problems approaching and walking right past me as I snapped away. It was a perfect couple of hours, imho!!

Everyone was rushing to get back home away from the rain today

I took a lot of pictures of this Merlin, but it was upset by my return and the dive bombing Eastern Kingbird. Brave little bird.

Although I've been extremely busy, and usually did not have the time to load pics on my computer until long after taking them, I though I was keeping up. I made sure to take a photo a week not matter how bad the photo is or how late on Saturday afternoon I did it. I've been lucky until yesterday.

As you might have guessed, I did eventually miss a week. That week was almost a month ago but I did not realize that until yesterday. Obviously my memory have failed me because I had a bunch of photos on the Saturday before the week started and a bunch on the Sunday after the week was already over and none in between. Searched the memory cards on all my cameras, my iPhone, my iPad…. even my Aperture trash, hoping to find even a really bad photo that I might have trashed but at least I took within the time from… all were before and after and nothing in between.

I can remember that this was the photo I though I've taking for that week (the original title was "Psychedelic Fluffy"). Obviously it was taking the day after. I hope this is not completely cheating (ok.. maybe half cheating) but I thought it might be better than just posting a blank. if I have realized earlier that I have missed a week, I might have decided to stop the whole project. But now I have photos for all the weeks after already. Plus, we are so close to the end of the year.

I hope to go back to the 365 next week. Much better motivation and discipline in that one.

on a side note, thank you for all the Flickr friends who are still commenting on my photo even though I've been a bad Flickr contact recently. I hope that I will get back in the groove of commenting on friends photos soon.

Oh dear, the things you start taking pictures of when you need to find a yellow macro shot somewhere in your house. This was the best among all other options.

Who would have thought the Queen needed a royal match maker.

Weekly Theme: Against The Light / Flare

Week #32

Taken August 11, 2011

Title: 21st Century Shizoid Man (B&W)

Notes: This week's theme cried out to me for a portrait of some sort, and as chance would have it, one happened my way. The above photograph is of "Willow", a gifted musician, singer, songwriter and generally passionate youth, who let me shoot him for this week's theme. The harsh light of the sun glaring down on Willow, casting harsh shadows (and adding flare!), helped to bring out the gritty look he wears, having been traveling the country for months by rail with nothing but his backpack, and a banjo. The photo and the subject himself reminded of the song... hence the title ;-).

I loved this little heart shaped pendant, which looks quite valuable, but is inexpensive bling!

We live in a world that seems to survive on the "never-never". and the vultures seem to constantly prey on the most vulnerable in our society. Bright colourful signs advertising easy loans with "No Credit Search" which will ultimately bring more debt and misery for some poor bastard. I saw this sign in the train station and was thinking about taking a shot when I saw this wee woman coming towards me. So I thought having her in the picture would make it a bit more interesting. Her profile looks a wee bit like HM the Queen, don't you think? Not that that has any bearing on the picture, just thought I'd mention it. Anyway this is my 21st Century Tuesday pic - brightly coloured debt trap!!!

Things were good last week. Progress became apparent, and it all got pretty good :]
