before christmas, we made a walk through the vineyards to Schloss Johannisberg, part of Geisenheim/Rhine. the abbey was founded in 1106, the church desztroyed in WWII, reminded me of the situation in Ukraine... Johannisberg castle had famous owners: Nassau-Oranien and Metternich (until 2006) were the most prominent ones. The Riesling from Johannisberg is a famous and delicious wine.

Taken while on a short walk along the Waterfront Recreational Trail today. It felt like -13 C, an improvement, as this morning felt like - 21 C. If you squint your eyes you can imagine the ice is a white, sandy beach :)
