The sea seamed to be very angry at this afternoon in Vik. How I loved the mood of this moment.

Morning walk in Barot, Himachal Pradesh,India.To the right is a potato field and you can catch a glimpse of the village in the distance.
Barot is a village developed in the 1920s by the British for the Shanan Hydel project on the Uhl River.It is situated in an extremely remote and picturesque little valley about 25 kms off the Mandi-Jogindernagar highway in Himachal Pradesh.The valley is watered by the Uhl River and is famous for trout breeding.There are forests of Deodar,Oak and Rohodendron and pretty little villages surrounded by terraced fields which were at the moment golden with ripening wheat,.Barot is at a distance of about 40 kms from the town of Jogindernagar but the British had also built a funicular trolley which reduces the distance to 12 kms.However the trolley ,as far as I could gather ,is no longer functional.

Four and a half year old Grizzly Bear sow. We have seen this particular bear every spring and fall since see was born. We know this for two reasons, her unusually light color and the fact that she frequents the same area of the park each spring and fall.

My walk in the woods yesterday around Kendrick Pond, Needham, Massachusetts. Nothing like a walk in the woods to clear the mind!
The triangular Plönlein, or "little square," is one of the most famous views in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and also the most photographed. To the left is the Siebers Tower and to the right is Kobolzell Gate. It was a rainy day, but proved to be one of the highlights of our trip to Bavaria this summer.
