Watching the Otters in Morro Bay Harbor. The one holding all four paws up is not playing to the crowd but is drying and warming its paws. These are the only areas that are not covered by the Otters marvelous fur. So, we often see them holding them out of the cold Ocean water.
The one seen doing the constant rolling is really not playing(mostly) but is trying to add air to his fur for extra flotation and extra warmth.
The Coast Guard boat...well, I don't really know what they are doing, just that it is not in an area they usually frequent.
All in Morro Bay Harbor on a fine day.
I could not sleep last night ... I had to put my thoughts and feelings into music, and I wanted to give something to the victims of last Friday's attacks.
So here it is, my small contribution: a musical tribute.
It's straight out of the piano, I'm not 100% satisfied with the way I played it, but that's the best I could get so far.
I wish I had put a video instead of the still image but I only have my 5D mkI with me right now. I might give it an update soon.

Timestack of the photos from yesterday’s behind-the-scenes post. This is made by progressively blending each photo with the previous, keeping the lightest pixel at each point. I used #StarStax to do this, which is designed for star trails but works great for cloud trails as well. Check the hashtag #jesscdy_timestack to see a few more of my timestacks - I used to do this a lot when I lived in Chicago!

I was all set for lunch with a friend at the museum when she had to call off due to illness. Finding myself alone, I went along anyway, though I would have been better with her company. There will be another time.
It has been a while since I posted a video so on this occasion I decided to use my spare time to show some movement. The locations you see are not the best exhibits, but were used because they have good lighting.

These wonderful flowers bloom in the evening and so as the video progresses you will notice it getting darker. Condensed 30 minutes into 35 seconds. Thanks for watching.
The raccoon kits were having some unsupervised fun on the porch last night.
I never knew raccoons wagged their tails.
A practise at time lapse the other day. There's an annoying dust spot in the sky but otherwise worked out not too bad.
