Timelapse of a rose unfurling. shot over two days. there is a lot of camera shake and light variation. This was the first one i tried. I like how it almost makes it seem more like film. shot with my d40, a nikon macro 55mm, and a sb 600, bounced off the ceiling.

A video of a small part of the birds (mainly Dunlin) in this one roosting @ high tide Snettisham RSPB yesterday. A few Red Knot in there as well as Godwits & Redshanks. Other islands were also covered with thousands of birds. We usually get a fair number of wading birds on the July high tides (many more in autumn tides) but I think the total here yesterday is more than I have ever seen in July before.
I have again re-edited another of my old movie of Kestrels, I took the movie and photos in Qatar several years ago, I must warn you some may find some of the content a little gruesome, but that's nature, that is cruel to species lower in the food chain.

Another Place Soundtrack is a collection of instrumental and vocal pieces shaped for late hours, dim rooms, and attentive listening. The album drifts through post-punk, coldwave, ambient noir, new wave - influenced minimalism, and dream pop - soaked shoegaze textures, built from deep sub-bass, blurred analog pads, melodic basslines, restrained drum patterns, and fragments of guitar and synth that appear, dissolve, and return altered. These tracks don’t resolve so much as inhabit space, functioning as atmosphere rather than narrative - music designed for the Another Place venue and its unfolding stories. It’s sound for standing inside time as it softens, where the outside world recedes and presence, repetition, and quiet emotional tension become the only currency.

I was in my blind videoing a bird bathing when I heard the loud complaint of a Great Egret as a second bird chased him from his hunting spot. We have exactly one Egret that stays here each winter, but occasionally a second bird will arrive, and there is always a territorial dispute. I only caught his landing, but thought it was so graceful in slow-motion that it was worth sharing.

October 5 will mark the first anniversary of Blanca's death. The year has gone by fast, but at the same time the world has continued to rapidly change and so much has happened that it already seems like a lifetime ago when I was walking these trails with my dear Blanca lady.
This week I'll be commemorating Blanca and I'm starting off with her last video footage that I didn't have the heart to edit until now. What a happy harmony we really did have! Nothing can ever take away from that.
