💗A lot of work on the new Love Menu+ 💗

Many new options

In the new Love Menu+, there won't be one but three animations.

Three new animations, completely recreated.

At the time, I asked for information on hand sizes to get animations closer to everyone.

The animations required a lot of work to avoid bugs

Thanks all for your patience. 💕

The rising tide cutting off the causeway across to the medieval 'Church in the Sea' of Llangwyfan (St Cwyfan) on Cribinau nr Aberffraw on Anglesey, followed by the rise of the Milky Way through the night-sky, as Mars & Saturn set and drop below the horizon and the Perseid meteors (& many satellites/planes) flew across the sky.

Point of interest: the 3-4 slower moving satellites (?) in the upper-left corner of the frame towards the end of the sequence. Presumably higher orbiting satellites than the norm. Not something I've come across before though.

I set up on what I thought was the 5m tide-line around 9pm and started running my shots. As it turned out I was about 1-2ft too close and so had the sea lapping around the tripod at high tide hours later... but not enough that I had to abandon-ship... It was a busy night here given that it was so clear that night, so a few stray lights and walk-ins from onlookers was unavoidable :)

Vivid Sydney is an annual festival of light, music and ideas, held in Sydney. It includes outdoor immersive light installations and projections, performances by local and international musicians, and an ideas exchange forum featuring public talks and debates with leading creative thinkers. This event takes place over the course of three weeks in May and June. The centrepiece of Vivid Sydney is the light sculptures, multimedia interactive work and building projections that transform various buildings and landmarks such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in and around the Sydney central business district into an outdoor night time canvas of art.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a heritage-listed steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is widely regarded as an iconic image of Sydney, and of Australia itself. The bridge is nicknamed The Coathanger because of its arch-based design. Under the direction of Dr John Bradfield of the NSW Department of Public Works, the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough and opened in 1932. The bridge's design was influenced by the Hell Gate Bridge in New York City. It is the sixth longest spanning-arch bridge in the world and the tallest steel arch bridge, measuring 134 m from top to water level. S20N_1126

A rare snow day at home with the Silvereyes.

They're waiting in the hedge.. for a space at the feeder.

One of three feeders... so you can imagine how busy it gets..

and how noisy ;-)

Just loaded for a smile. Apologies.. the quality of this is terrible... and somehow (almost impossibly ;-) the uploaded version is worse. But if you can put up with that... and survive the motion sickness the video creates... then...

happily free

from fences friday ;-)

I took over 500 pics of the redwoods in Southern Oregon and Northern California but it was this v-short video that best depicted the beauty of the site. You can see the biotic pump in action condensing water from fog into rain…and of course all the beautiful trees!

Temperate rainforests are coniferous or broadleaf forests that occur in the temperate zone and receive heavy rain...the moist conditions of temperate rain forests generally support an understory of mosses, ferns and some shrubs and berries.

Temperate rain forests occur in a variety of regions around the world - the Pacific Northwest of the USA & Canada, the Validivian forests of southwestern South America, New Zealand and Tasmania, the Northeastern Atlantic (small, isolated pockets in Ireland, Scotland, and Iceland), southwestern Japan.

These forests pull in large amounts of water vapor from surrounding regions and from nearby bodies of water. As the vapor condenses into rain, the local atmospheric pressure drops...the whole rainforest-water vapor system is called a biotic pump, because the living forests move the water.

You can read about the forest fires that hit the redwoods in 2021 here:

My first try of making short stop motion movie.

Made of paper, leaves and petals.

Here are 4 time lapse segments from different desert outings, about 8 hours total elapsed time. The 1st two are from an area near California’s Desert Center, in the Chuckwalla Mountains of the Colorado Desert; the 2nd two are from Joshua Tree National Park. Joshua Tree’s claim to fame is it spreads over two distinct ecosystems – the lower Colorado and the higher Mojave Deserts. The two JT segments are from the higher Mojave, hosting the namesake Joshua tree. The segments are unabridged, meaning I didn’t try to remove airplane trails or errant bursts of flashlight. The segment with the tent is particularly interesting because of the light pollution. It was quite cloudy and the sky appears rather orange, the clouds clear, and the moon rises right at the end to light the new clouds with white moonlight. There is also some light on the palms from occasional flare-ups of a nearby campfire. Finally, I threw in a few stills from the same outings.

The panning effects were created in LRTimelapse; assembly in Photodex Producer with their licensed music “The Mystic Road”.

Here is a short montage of elephant photos and videos taken on my trips to Africa. They may not be the best quality shots, but each evokes memories and associations for me that put me right back there in that moment in time. There is no other place on this Earth quite like Africa.
