On June 2nd, I went canoeing for the first time this year on the Kizu River in Kasagi Town. When I was younger, I could assemble a canoe in about 15 minutes, but on this day it took me 35 minutes and I was exhausted before I even started canoeing.
In the summer of 1988, we set off from here with our friend's family and enjoyed canoeing 75 km downstream to Nakanoshima in Osaka City. It was a memorable two-night, three-day river trip with a tent.
In May, I was able to walk 169 km, so I would like to enjoy canoeing at least five times in June. 🌲🌻🌸
The most decorated house in our town. We still do not have tradition to decorate "too much". But this was done successfully and people liked it
The last scene in video is our Railway station...Unfortunately passenger trains dont run from Ventspils anymore...Passenger trains have not run to Ventspils since 2010. Ventspils is one of the dead-end stations, because the former line to Liepāja was closed in 1996.

Back in mid May I visited a local pond to see how the Damselflies were progressing, after half an hour I had only spotted a couple of large red damselflies, although I noticed a lot of Sparrow activity around the pond edges, taking a shot of one Sparrow I noticed in its beak was a newly emerged damselfly, I then focused on many more Sparrows to find that each and everyone had at least one newly emerged damselfly in its beak. Its tough being a Damselfly.

The rising tide cutting off the causeway across to the medieval 'Church in the Sea' of Llangwyfan (St Cwyfan) on Cribinau nr Aberffraw on Anglesey, followed by the rise of the Milky Way through the night-sky, as Mars & Saturn set and drop below the horizon and the Perseid meteors (& many satellites/planes) flew across the sky.
Point of interest: the 3-4 slower moving satellites (?) in the upper-left corner of the frame towards the end of the sequence. Presumably higher orbiting satellites than the norm. Not something I've come across before though.
I set up on what I thought was the 5m tide-line around 9pm and started running my shots. As it turned out I was about 1-2ft too close and so had the sea lapping around the tripod at high tide hours later... but not enough that I had to abandon-ship... It was a busy night here given that it was so clear that night, so a few stray lights and walk-ins from onlookers was unavoidable :)
So it's the start of a new term at music school, and I'm back inside the piano-room-cupboard, as the children attend their lessons.
Again, this video has been edited (and uploaded!) from my mobile phone. The wonders of technology...
