(EN) A stone arch frames an afternoon on the Mediterranean — clouds, light and water compressed into six silent seconds to show a typical day's 24-hour cycle of light.
Through the arch, a white balustrade steps down to a calm shore, the famously sheltered waters of the Mar Menor, Europe's largest saltwater lagoon, barely moving in the afternoon heat. A solitary island (Isla Mayor) with a watchtower holds its position across the water as the sky slowly rewrites itself overhead.
What the eye would need twenty-four hours to witness, the video of 6 seconds delivers in a breath. Architecture, sea and time in quiet conversation.

She lingers where the mist folds into the reeds,

This was an exciting photo outing because we found a Barred owl and because as I was recording, the owl heard something and flew out of the tree right in front of me with it's wing nearly brushing my head as it flew by. It landed in a tree right behind me.
The noise you hear in the background is from the gun club.

The Monarchs, Second Life's premier performance dance group was formed in April of 2016, celebrating 5 years!

The Monarchs themselves representing four of those continents and 7 countries.
Today I spend some quality time with Flatty, my most treasured Kookaburra. There are very few days when she does not come to visit, but today was different. Kookaburras have a special call that signified danger. Today Flatty came to the backdoor and gave the danger call. She repeated it a few times, and so I went to her.
For about ten minutes Flatty stayed, and I stood with her, she was safe from any danger while ever she was with me. Standing about 30 cm, or a foot, from her I videoed about 5 minutes of our time together. I hoped she would repeat the alarm call, but she knew she was safe with me.
When she flies away you will hear the call of another bird, this call is the "all clear" to say the danger had passed. This video is just a few clips from our time together, nothing dramatic, but precious to me, and something I'm happy to share. To me, it is a huge privilege to have such a trusting relationship with a wild bird.

Désolé pour la stabilité de l'image mais je n'ai pas vraiment eu le temps de bien m'installer, je n'avais pas mon trépied et j'étais sur de gros cailloux qui fait digue au bord du lac !
Waves at Jervis Bay, Australia. Normally waves there are about a metre high but after a week of storms they were about 3 m high.
I love watching waves, particularly, large ones. They are like flames - enticingly beautiful but nevetheless potentially dangerous.
The boom of the waves as they broke reverberated along the beach. Unfortunately, the sound recorded with the video was poor so I have switched it off.
The waves had torn red algae from the sea bed so they have a reddish tinge. It was very hazy day.

My dream species of bird, that's what I want that, thanks to my friend Hank Tseng.
