Burgruine Mödling

Mödling Castle, also known as Mödling Castle Ruins, is the ruins of a hilltop castle above the Mödlingbach Valley with a view of the town of Mödling to the east and the Hussar Temple to the west.

It is located in the Föhrenberge Nature Park, approx. 1 km behind the drop in the mountains on the edge of the Vienna Basin.

The rocky section of the valley at its foot, through which the Mödlingbach stream flows, is called Klausen.

The Mödling district of Vorderbrühl adjoins it in the direction of the Vienna Woods. From the location of the castle, it was easy to recognise dangers approaching from the east, sometimes via advanced observation posts.

Tiếng Dương Cầm (Văn Phụng) - Thùy Dương Trình bày

A group of male blue-banded bees, Amegilla cingulata about to roost for the night. Four have settled down but a fifth bee arrives and wants the favoured spot at the tip of the dead twig. Some leg wresting takes place before the intruder departs and then calm prevails at least temporarily.

It can take over an hour for the bees to become settled. At least sixteen bees roosted on this twig so there were plenty more disputes about space before they settled down for the night. For more information about blue-banded bees see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amegilla_cingulata

It was quite windy when I was taking the video. The bees came into roost early as a cool southerly change arrived.

Thanks for your visit. Comments, faves and invitations are very appreciated if you chose to leave any.

VICE Nights Club spans multiple genres within electronic music, and hard techno is one of them, and as they say, every now and then, a cold shower stimulates the thermal receptors in your skin, sending a burst of electrical impulses straight to the brain.

Last night, that's exactly what happened with the sets from kaori, Billa, and Perrita. Pure catharsis on the dance floor. Will you dare to join us next time?

I purchased an AC adapter for my camera and it arrived yesterday. I have been wanting to create some really fun and interesting time lapse videos but I knew my batteries wouldn't hold out long enough.

This video is of my bedroom curtains. One of my favorite things in my bedroom. I love how the light shines through them each morning and changes as the sun rises. I may try to record from the time I wake up until noon sometime to give a full effect.

The music in this video is suitable because this will truly be one of the things I miss when I move away from home.

The music is "Goodbye Sooner or Later" by oldDog.

Technical: I recorded video footage for 46 minutes (the maximum I can record on a 1GB memory stick). I imported the video into Sony Vegas Movie Studio (Platinum Edition). I speed the footage up as fast as I could, rendered it out in an uncompressed format. Pulled it back in and speed it up even more, rendered it back out. Pulled it back in, added saturation and luminance, music and exported. The reason I had to render it out twice was because Sony Vegas has a speed limit, I guess is a good way to put it!

Hehe! ok, do bear in mind that I'm mostly just playing around with this one...it's very short so not much to suffer... :D

This is my first time lapse experiment, 'experiment' being the operative word :) There's a loooot of inconsistencies, the light keeps changing and the images skip a bit cause I er, didn't keep a close enough eye on the time :D ...but it's something to work on and improve with practice. I need a flower that reacts better to light and water I think to start, because my daisy's still a bit droopy at the end!

This took a full day to do, taking a photo every 15 minutes - half hour or so and then composing the movie in windows movie maker. I'm sure there's an easier way to do it, I just gotta figure it out...

Constructive criticisms are most welcome on this one, and any tips and advice you might have will be very useful!

Wow, as a total "sky geek" I was sure in my happy place while watching this evolving, slightly stormy (a wee bit of lightning), sunset sky as we approached the Phoenix airport. Feel free to mute if that airplane buzz is annoying to you.

My first attempt of shooting a video and uploading it to Flickr. As long as it took, I doubt if I do this very often! It is a little shaky, but I hope you still enjoy viewing it. It's fun to watch the hummers take turns at taking their morning baths in our small waterfall in our back yard.

A busy day, I'll be back as soon as I can to visit your photos! Have a great day!

Title: [Wakulla Springs & WWII Troop Maneuvers]

Date of film: 1940s.

Physical descrip: color; silent; Original film length: 16:39.

Series Title: (Filming Florida.)

General note: Excerpt of original. Army troops practice swamp slogging through cypress swamp, make human chain across river, crawl on their bellies, use weeds and Spanish moss for camouflage. Shows troops firing machine gun, sniping from trees, swimming assault across the river, smoke screen and explosions on water as troops hit shore. More machine gun team on shore, then troops swim with bamboo poles as floats. Troops with guns and helmets practice ducking under on cue as they swim across the river. They float gear across using tent canvas and poles for rafts. Amphibious vehicle tows troops in water. Soldiers jump from tower, then they swim through flames on water, set off smoke bombs, and swim through more flames. Next they practice jumping from the deck of a rusty derelict ship (possibly at Carrabelle). Back to Wakulla for soldiers posing in camouflage uniforms and more wading across river.
