Last year I did not see any varied thrush. This morning was the 4th time one landed on my deck. . I knew I wouldn't have time to set up my good camera with the big lens, which is sitting on a tripod in the kitchen with the short lens as I was doing some closeup photography, so I got my point and shoot and took a video. Next time, some still shots!

We haven’t seen this mama and her babies for a while, so I was very happy to look out to find them at the feeder. They’ve gotten so big!

After a lot of debating, I finally released my first BENTO animated stands for AO.
"DokiDoki" is a set of 5 cute and feminine stands, with natural breathing effect and light hand/arm animations.

This a film of the two cairns I made at Beacon Fell Country Park near Preston in Lancashire, the second was remade from the remains of the first.
Editing this footage brought back memories. I remember it was lightly snowing that day when I finished the acorn cairn. It took two days to build as I had to spend hours carrying the stone from a dilapidated wall. I remember how it was extremely precarious and sat on the soft forest floor of compacted needles I could move the whole thing in unison to and fro with very little effort. It was in perfect equilibrium but I knew it wouldn't last long. The stone was very uneven which meant it was quite difficult to get it to balance with its overhanging shape.
Oh and the other thing I remembered was to be careful of walking into trees while filming and walking in a circle or else you look like an idiot with a red lump on your forehead.
When I returned a few weeks later to see if it was still there (no not the lump on my forehead) I wasn't surprised to find that it had toppled. Whether it's demise was due to an earthquake, human assistance or depression and loneliness I will never know. And I don't know how long it had remained standing either.
But still even though it had collapsed the hard work of carrying the stone was done so I needed to make something a little more gravity/child/passer-by-who-gives-it-a-push resistant.
I drew out the circle for the base of the pyramid and completed the second cairn in a day. I was amazed when I finished as I had judged the size of the base perfectly (complete fluke) that meant that I used up all the rock from the first cairn and needed no more to complete it. I haven't been back to see it since but I suspect it has gone the way of its predecessor.

The commonest of the UK's three species, P. vulgata can be found at all levels on the shore. This marine gastropod mollusc had a continuous distribution around the British coast.

Lots of rain + wind... and water spray from Gullfoss (Puh..)
Gullfoss is the waterfall of the river Hvítá in the south of Iceland.
It consists of two steps, 11m and 21m high.
From the second step, the water plunges into a gorge.
2.5 km long from the waterfall to the widening to the valley, depth 70 m.

Viel Regen + Wind... und Gischt vom Gullfoss (Puh..)
Der Gullfoss ist der Wasserfall des Flusses Hvítá im Süden Islands.
Er besteht aus zwei Stufen, 11m und 21 m hoch.
Von der zweiten Stufe stürzt das Wasser in eine Schlucht.
2,5 km lang vom Wasserfall bis zur Verbreiterung zum Tal, Tiefe 70m..
I had put all the work in making the 3D models, I thought I might as well animate them.
In the process I learnt how you use two cameras and switch between them, how to use the graph editor to slow down an animation, and how to add music.
I used CC0 (public domain) music of freepd.com. It's called "Overture" by Alexander Nakarada.
Slowly but surely I'm getting there.
All is fairly low poly and rendered with Eevee.
ps: the second camera is mounted on top of the spacecraft

Some video of one of the Thursley cuckoos. A little shakey at times as I shot it handheld. We were not in a hide and this was shot with my 7D2 and 100-400 which gives you an idea about how confiding this bird is.
While my 4 cheeky keets were eating another 2 turned up, it was Rainbow Lorikeet madness this afternoon.
