The Silence of The Trams by "Adventure before dementia"

A miracle has been performed on Sydney's George Street!! From a thoroughfare clogged with buses and other vehicles, now it is an open space with broad footpaths, breathable air and quiet as the noisiest tram.

For people who know Sydney, I shot this footage outside Wynyard station, looking south along George Street, the GPO is on the left, just beyond the trees in Martin Place.

Hallo, irgendwie habe ich es tatsächlich auf die letzte Plattform unterhalb des Gipfelplateaus geschafft. Das ist für mich und viele andere Endstation. Für die Fitteren geht es noch weiter nach oben und wie man es auf den Bildern und in dem Video sieht ist der restliche Aufstieg noch anstrengender und die Besucherschlange noch gewaltiger. Hier auf dem Plateau befinden sich die Überreste des Löwentors nach dem der Felsen vermutlich benannt wurde. Von dem riesigen Löwenkopf , durch dessen Maul man früher den letzten steilsten Teil des Aufstiegs zur den "Palastgebäuden (heute nur noch Grundmauern zu sehen) begann, sind nur noch zwei mächtige Tatzen übrig.

Well, I somehow managed to reach the final platform just below the summit plateau. For me—and many others—this is the end of the line. Those who are fitter continue further up; as you can see in the photos and video, the remaining ascent is even more strenuous, and the line of visitors is massive. Here on the plateau lie the remains of the Lion Gate, from which the rock formation presumably takes its name. Of the colossal lion's head—through whose mouth one once began the final, steepest stretch of the climb to the palace buildings (of which only the foundations remain today)—only two massive paws are left.

Ein Jahr geht zu Ende, nicht nur das Kalenderjahr, sondern auch mein erstes Jahr bei Flickr.

Es war ein spannendes Jahr, mit vielen schönen Erlebnissen in der Natur und wertschätzendem Feedback der Community. Manchmal bin ich auch an meine Grenzen gekommen und hatte Bedenken, dass ich mich zu sehr in der virtuellen Welt verliere. Danke für Euren Support, er hat mir sehr geholfen meine Zweifel zu überwinden und weiter zu machen.

Das Video zeigt ein paar schöne Momente, die ich mit meiner Kamera festhalten durfte. Ich bin dankbar, dass ich die Zeit hatte diese Aufnahmen zu machen, das ist alles andere als selbstverständlich, ich sehe es als ein großes Geschenk.

Ich wünsche allen ein gutes neues Jahr!

A year is coming to an end, not just the calendar year, but also my first year at Flickr.

It was an exciting year, with many beautiful experiences in nature and appreciative feedback from the community. Sometimes I reached my limits and was worried that I would get too lost in the virtual world. Thank you for your support, it helped me a lot to overcome my doubts and move on.

The video shows a few beautiful moments that I was able to capture with my camera. I'm grateful that I had the time to take these captures, that's anything but a given, I see it as a great gift.

I wish everyone a happy new year!

Une année touche à sa fin, pas seulement l'année civile, mais aussi ma première année chez Flickr.

Ce fut une année passionnante, avec de nombreuses belles expériences dans la nature et des retours élogieux de la part de la communauté. Parfois, j’atteignais mes limites et j’avais peur de trop me perdre dans le monde virtuel. Merci pour le soutien, cela m'a beaucoup aidé à surmonter mes doutes et à avancer.

La vidéo montre quelques beaux moments que j'ai pu capturer avec mon appareil photo. Je suis reconnaissant d'avoir eu le temps de prendre ces captures, c'est tout sauf acquis, je le vois comme un beau cadeau.

Je souhaite à tous une bonne année!
