I think the picture is strong in that the subject matter is interesting and balanced. The white background is in stark contrast to the black shape, and the red flowers give a dash of color. The chopstick on the right creates visual interest, but because the flowers lean towards the left, balance is maintained. I think I could improve it once I have more experience with the camera settings, so as to make the picture brighter without going overboard.

Picked up this Olympus film camera for the lenses to use with my DSLR. Turns out this is the only old Oly the isn't compatible with my camera, even with adapters. I did cannibalize the flash and lens caps that I can use. The rest is going to goodwill.

We are entertaining the idea of putting our house on the market, you know, empty nest, down size...all that jazz. I tried SO HARD to unclutter my kitchen....and this is it. LOL...my poor realtor.

I layed this ring on the ground and stood on a chair over top of it. I like it because it's not on a stark white background, but the contrast of the dirty grey floor and white of the ring works nicely.

I dumped a jar of various implements that I had on my desk. It could be better with better lighting and background.

This picture has one subject and you're drawn right to the dog.

Unclutter, This photo is strong because it shows stuff going on but not really.It could be improved by showing more of the classroom.

I went to a clear grey background and put a vase filled with flowers in it to add emphasis to the picture and make it easier to see all the details of the flowers. There is light in the picture so you can also see the shadow the vase and flowers create and it adds balance to the picture. It is a strong photograph because it is simple yet bold, however it can have been better by adding more flowers or something else that catches the eye.

For this photo, I had to get a Ladder to get level with the wall ornament. I think the interesting shapes and patterns of the ornament makes it strong however I feel that it could be improved by changing the color of the ornament.

It’s not that easy, is it?

Forgiving someone who has done you an injustice is difficult; it even feels illogical, because we feel that we are letting the wrongdoer off the hook. But forgiving does not equate letting someone off the hook. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you are condoning bad behaviour Forgiveness is not about the other person. It’s about you.

You forgive people not for their sake, but for your own sake. You forgive because that’s the only way you can set yourself free. When you forgive, you’re letting go of anger, of hurt, helplessness or shame. Like love, when forgiveness is given unconditionally, it’s incredibly empowering for the giver When you set conditions on forgiveness, you give power to your tormentors. You make it easier for them to hurt you again.

Stress is often caused by regrets and resentments we have been holding on to for years. These grudges rob us of peace of mind and hamper our growth.

Peace of mind is required for healing to take place. Forgiveness can bring that peace of mind. That said though, nobody should demand or expect forgiveness from you. It is nobody’s birthright to be forgiven. It’s up to you when you are ready and when you want to forgive them. You have to work through your anger and sense of loss before you will be able to do that. Others can ask you for forgiveness but not expect it. To expect forgiveness builds up even more resentment.

But we all should practice forgiveness regularly to unclutter our mind. When we forgive, we remove what’s blocking our energy and happiness. We open doors to fresh air and light.

This photo is strong due to its simplicity. The uncluttered subject allows the eye to fully focus on and appreciate the detail of the subject. The contrast between the subject and background help the details stand out even more This photo is also strong due to the subject's placement in alignment with the rule of thirds. To make this photo more effective, I should have moved the horizon line slightly higher up to be more in alignment with the rule of thirds.

This is a strong photo because the uncluttered plain look, really isolated the orange slice allowing for one to view small details. This photo probably could've been improved by choosing better lighting to have the colors in the fruit appear to be more vibrant, setting a more exciting tone for the picture.

This is a light painting of a friend i did that i believe reflects the assignment given. it is strong, i believe because it shows strong movement of the subjects body, and focuses solely on it. it could be improved by further detail in to the subjext being considered.

I included the sky as an almost plain white background (white due to contrast editing and effects of using f1.2 lens). I cropped it slightly to follow the rule of thirds more precisely. It is strong because of the high contrast, extreme detail, and combination of complementary colors. I dislike that the house on the right side is so immediately identifiable as a house. It could be improved by taking the picture at a different angle to avoid the house entirely.

I thought this object would be perfect for an unclutter picture. The vase has a busy design, and therefore, needs a simple solid background to balance it out. And in this case, the object has many colors so it needs a white background. If I could improve the image, I would want the background to be brighter to complement the joyful design of the vase.

I chose to photograph my father as the main object, but he was not enough to fill the picture and the site of where I was photographing him, people were continuously walking behind him; so I had an idea of photographing my father as the main object and a secondary object was to be the church behind him in the background, which would fill the picture and would create an uncluttered photo. It is a strong photo because it focuses on the objects and it is filled with them too; though, the picture can be improved by photographing my dad in another position where he fills the sky space to his and the church right side (in the pictures left side).

I chose to use these ceramic containers, because it makes a nice, simple photograph. I used the white tile background of my kitchen and let the green counter stay in the picture because it went with the ivy. The photo could be improved with a little editing and maybe by only using one jar so there is absolutely one focus.
