After getting a bunch of messages on how I carved my stamps, I wrote up a quick tutorial on how I did mine.
This is some sort of tutorial on how I do my brick wall backgrounds. Though scrapbooking papers can give you a very realistic and easy brick background, sometimes I love to make a "real" wall with texture and color.
The wall is made out of styrofoam, the window is made of foamboard.
Another great way to add realism is by using sand paper and pressing it with the help of a ball tool onto the foam surface. The bricks will looks as if they have pores. Use different grades of sandpapers so it doesn't look the same everywhere.

Probably the model I have recieved the most positive feedback on. The only thing I changed on this one is the exhaust mounts. Otherwise it remains as I originally put it together.

Here is an easy Tutorial you can use to get this effect. The subject here is one of my favorite models, Granddaughter Ashley.
1 Open the tree pic. Check the levels so it has contrast, but not too much.
2, Put your face pic on top of the Background Tree image. Go to
image...adjustments...desaturate...(this will make the pic
b/w)
3. Move the picture on the top of the tree layer.
4. Press Ctrl+T to get the Free Transform Tool, adjust the size and position of the pic.
5, Open the layer Mask and with a soft brush eliminate the parts of the picture that you don´t want by brushing it with the black color.
6. Change the blend mode to overlay. opacity 100%.
7.Duplicate this layer, but change blend mode to hard light, 70% opacity.
8. Finally go back to the Background image you started with and duplicate this layer. Move the new duplicated layer to the top of the Layers. This, of course will wipe out all your work but all you need to do is to change the blend j of this layer to Screen or Soft Light and lower the opacity to about 40 to 60%. This step puts the bark back over the face. Your own taste will dictate how low to make the opacity here.
If you are one of the purists, you might want to put the warp tool on the face layer and bring the top corners down, and the bottom corners up, just a tad to get the rounded look.
Looks like you can skip step 3, didn't realize I had that in twice.
Here is an alternative if copying the entire background layer makes your image too dark. Go to the background Layer and select just the tree trunk, and press CTRL J which puts the selection on a new layer. Then move this layer over to the top and make the adjustments in step 8.

Here's a nice little tutorial that I made on using scrap clay to make Organic Heishi Beads. The steps are as follows- 1- Chop up scrap clay, here I used old cane ends plus bits of white and translucent clays. 2- Add inclusions, I used coffee grounds and embossing powders, but you could add spices too. 3- Press together to form a rectangle or log. It's important not to blend the bits, just get them to stick together. This will take a bit of pressing and turning. It helps if you warm the clay first with your body heat. 4- If you made a large log, cut it into pieces 5- Pierce the cube with a metal knitting needle or wood skewer, then begin to round the corners so it can be rolled. 6- I elongate the clay on the rod by rolling, then pushing the clay against the needle. When you roll, it makes the inner hole too sloppy ,so pushing the clay back on the needle helps to tighten everything up. 7- When I reach the length of the needle, I remove it and use a long wooden skewer to finish the lengthening process. 8- Bake on a accordion folded cardstock for at least 50 minutes. 9- Let cool, then if desired sand and buff the rods. You could leave them as is too, for a matte look. 10- When finished put them back in the oven for 5 - 10 minutes. Remove them, one at a time and slice them with a sharp rigid blade while still warm. They cut very easily. 11- The completed Heishi Beads

Made with the Heinz Strobl's knotology method.
Prepare 12 paper strips (if this will be your first sphere, I recommend use of different colors). My sphere in this tutorial is made from six colors (two strips each of them). But nice sphere could be made from two colors (6 strips each of them).
Fold each strip in 22 squares, add also diagonals like in the picture. The little pegs mark important position in the strips.

Para ello hacemos pequeños agujeros en la parte de arriba de la calabaza y en la base de las piruletas con una pequeña broca manual del mismo grosor que el alambre que vamos a utilizar para hacerle el palo a las piruletas. Cortamos trocitos de alambre de 1 cm de longitud, ponemos pegamento en los extremos y los insertamos en la base de las piruletas y en la calabaza.
Si queréis un acabado brillante sólo hay que barnizar ¡y listo!

Start with a hexagon bottom side up. I cut this hexagon from a strip, so some creases are already there. Make them too - fold the sides in half and then all 6 sides to the middle so that it look as the next picture

Ahora que están tan de moda los tutoriales sobre retoque fotográfico, paso a exponer uno realizado con una técnica mÃa.
Bien, cuando queremos aplicar una textura a una imagen, en este caso una flor. Normalmente aplicamos una textura conseguida, o fotografiada por ahÃ, sobre la imagen. A la que también se suele retocar con capas de ajuste y modos de fusión para conseguir el efecto deseado para mezclar las dos imágenes.
Para un efecto como el de esta imagen, también se suele utilizar el filtro distorsionar-cristal, y algún tipo de desenfoque gausiáno.
Todos esos pasos, llevan un cierto tiempo ante el pc, salvo para los gurús del photoshop, que lo hacen mientras toman un café, con dos golpes de ratón. A los neófitos nos lleva bastante mas.
Pues bien, esta es la técnica que yo uso para ahorrar tiempo.
1º- Cojo la cámara.
2º- Salgo a la terraza.
3º- Observo si, en el cristal que separa mi terraza de la de la vecina, hay alguna flor aplastada contra mi lado. Si es asÃ, paso al punto cuatro.
4º- Compongo la imagen y disparo.
Nótese que he ahorrado un cierto tiempo. Amén de haber tomado un poco el sol, que nunca viene mal, entre inundación e inundación. Y si encima andaba la vecina por allÃ, pues se charla un poco del tiempo, que también viene bien para fomentar las relaciones sociales.
