Mi primer tutorial, dedicado a Tundrita ^^

La diferencia entre el paso 6 y el 7 es que en el 7 están barnizados.

Jaja, y me acabo de dar cuenta que he intercambiado el paso 3 y el 4 :P no me lo tengais en cuenta que es el primero jajaja ^^

I'm done with the hand puns now. :)

I decided to try and mess with the wrist pin as per the Seneschal's suggestion. I know a lot of people said eh leave it as is but I'm too OCD about stuff to do that.

The wrist donor was a fashionista from ages ago who came with a broken wrist post (she became a carving experiment victim as you can see). Miraculously, the intact hand was just the one I needed. (btw both of these are from China, not Indonesia. Quality control issues?)

ANYWAY onto the juicy stuff!: I just heated the hand in hot water and gently pried the flaps off the wrist pin, no need to pull out the "bone" itself. heated some more while i squeezed them into place on the proper wrist pin, and done.

:D

This is some sort of tutorial on how I do my brick wall backgrounds. Though scrapbooking papers can give you a very realistic and easy brick background, sometimes I love to make a "real" wall with texture and color.

The wall is made out of styrofoam, the window is made of foamboard.

Another great way to add realism is by using sand paper and pressing it with the help of a ball tool onto the foam surface. The bricks will looks as if they have pores. Use different grades of sandpapers so it doesn't look the same everywhere.

A tutorial I made for Vitani and others interesed in modeling in ZBrush. c:

Here's a link to the full 5 minute version.

It's on the UI and other tools to get started in ZBrush.

Any questions? Feel free to leave one in the comments.

Here is an easy Tutorial you can use to get this effect. The subject here is one of my favorite models, Granddaughter Ashley.

1 Open the tree pic. Check the levels so it has contrast, but not too much.

2, Put your face pic on top of the Background Tree image. Go to

image...adjustments...desaturate...(this will make the pic

b/w)

3. Move the picture on the top of the tree layer.

4. Press Ctrl+T to get the Free Transform Tool, adjust the size and position of the pic.

5, Open the layer Mask and with a soft brush eliminate the parts of the picture that you don´t want by brushing it with the black color.

6. Change the blend mode to overlay. opacity 100%.

7.Duplicate this layer, but change blend mode to hard light, 70% opacity.

8. Finally go back to the Background image you started with and duplicate this layer. Move the new duplicated layer to the top of the Layers. This, of course will wipe out all your work but all you need to do is to change the blend j of this layer to Screen or Soft Light and lower the opacity to about 40 to 60%. This step puts the bark back over the face. Your own taste will dictate how low to make the opacity here.

If you are one of the purists, you might want to put the warp tool on the face layer and bring the top corners down, and the bottom corners up, just a tad to get the rounded look.

Looks like you can skip step 3, didn't realize I had that in twice.

Here is an alternative if copying the entire background layer makes your image too dark. Go to the background Layer and select just the tree trunk, and press CTRL J which puts the selection on a new layer. Then move this layer over to the top and make the adjustments in step 8.

Tutorial for this and that knotology sphere.

Made with the Heinz Strobl's knotology method.

Prepare 12 paper strips (if this will be your first sphere, I recommend use of different colors). My sphere in this tutorial is made from six colors (two strips each of them). But nice sphere could be made from two colors (6 strips each of them).

Fold each strip in 22 squares, add also diagonals like in the picture. The little pegs mark important position in the strips.

In this detailed tutorial you will learn how to create a seamless pattern composed of simple folk-flavored flowers. In the first part we will create an individual flower. In the second we will focus on constructing a pattern and define a seamless Illustrator pattern swatch.

I created this to give and idea of how to use clipping mask.

REALLY LARGE

LARGER IN SEPARATE WINDOW

This is the second version. If you saw the first sorry, I had to delete it.

A layer mask is a secondary layer added next to the primary layer in the Layer's pallet as shown in the inset. You'll notice the thin black second border around that rectangle. It shows that the Layer Mask is selected. You do that by clicking on it. If you clicked on the main layer icon to the left, it would have the secondary border.

Also shown here are arrows pointing to other buttons in the Layer pallet. The three not pointed at are links, sets and trash can.

How I did this step by step.

1. double clicked the background layer and click OK to make it Layer 0 (you can do this with a single double click by holding down the option key, alt on PC). This is important since you can't add a layer mask to a "Background" layer.

2. I held down the command key (control on PC) and click the "New Layer" button. By holding down the key it puts the layer below the layer with my ugly mug. If you didn't hold it down key the blank layer would appear above. If it did, just drag it below

3. The newly created layer should now be highlighted in some color indicating that it is chosen (or selected, this can be confusing because "selecting" means something different when using the marquee or lasso tool.) If it is not highlighted, then click on it. and use the gradient tool to fill it with a gradient (using the gradient tool is pretty basic: choose from the gradient menu and drag across the layer).

4. Next click back on Layer 0 (here, it is pix of the goofy man with his tongue out) and then click the layer mask button. A mask icon should appear on that layer (to the right) and the double line should indicate the mask is chosen.

5. Take the lasso tool and draw a loose circle around the object (here it's Me), when you release the mouse button, should see the marching ants (luv that term, that would be a good title for an animated movie "The Marching Ants".)

6. Inverse the selection, either from the Select menu or keyboard shortcut of Command (ctrl on pc) + shift + i . Hit "d" on the keyboard, setting your default colors and then use the keyboard shortcut of command (ctrl on pc) + delete. This fills the selected areas on the mask with black. You masked area should make that area disappear on the photo. You can also do it the long way by going Edit > Fill and choose black, from the menu.

7. Now at this point it helps to have a Wacom tablet, but if you don't it can be done with a mouse. First deselect (command + d or Select > Deselect from the menu). Then hit "x" on the keyboard, making black the foreground color. choose a soft brush with a size allowing you to paint larger areas ( The "[" key makes it smaller and the "]" makes it larger. Add the shift to soften or harden).

8. Paint in black (making sure the double border is still around the mask icon -- no mad clicking allowed) along the edges of the object (Me again).

9. Eventually you will have "masked" out what you want to hide and let the gradient background show through. If you mess up remember the "x" key. It will flop foreground and background colors. Paint in white to unmask and black to mask.

I hope that's clear and helps someone.

Although there are many tutorials on the internet. I thought I'd make this simple one because this question seems to be oft asked.

Also if you notice any mistakes in this one please let me know. I used to know how to spell. Spell checkers have ruined spelling forever now, I'm afraid.

If you're interested, I did this with the ComicLife program on a iMac.

NOTE: I used Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur here for expedience, but Lens Blur may may it more realistic.

Soon the others. Any Thing Says to Me!

She was a beauty--a gold 45 goddess for sure! A Gold 45 Goddess exalts the archetypal form of Athena--the Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. A Gold 45 Goddess guards the beauty of dx4/dt=ic and embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. It is Athena who descends to call Telemachus to Adventure in the first book of Homer's Odyssey--to man up, find news of his true father Odysseus, and rid his home of the false suitors, and too, it is Athena who descends in the first book of Homer's Iliad, to calm the Rage of Achilles who is about to draw his sword so as to slay his commander who just seized Achilles' prize, thusly robbing Achilles of his Honor--the higher prize Achilles fought for. And now Athena descends once again, assuming the form of a Gold 45 Goddess, to inspire you along your epic journey of heroic endeavour.
