This is the mythical 1974 Paris Motor Show turbo prototype. It's spent most of it life here in Australia, as both a race car and then a road car. Most people
know little about this car and many inaccuracies abound. It's often referred to as having a wooden engine. It had a real but non-functioning engine from the sump plate up to the induction, but the
'turbo' bits were indeed made of timber. The sale sheet shows a chassis number.
Even though it should have 2 consecutive threes in it, the chassis is that of a 1973 2.4S coupe. Its original windscreen had the 'Carrera' script engraved across the top, but sadly that is long gone. I believe the car was sold to Chicago. In the 70's I worked at
Sydney's then-only Porsche dealer and we had the car in the showroom for a while. I have lots of photos of it in its original condition. I love this car! I'd love to build a rep of it. These shots were taken at the Phillip Island historic meeting in 2007.
Detailed engine bay of MGT #396. Bit of a labour of love trying to keep it this good, but I have a 'thing' about presentable engine bays. Says a lot about how much a car has really been looked after imo.

SAAB Turbo.
Perche chi dice turbo
dice SAAB.
(Because whoever says turbo says SAAB).
SAAB
chi SAAB, e chi no.
Italy market, 1982.
Saabs are seldom modelled, so its nice to see this somewhat bulky but not entirely charmless 900 Turbo. It was produced in the early 80's in several colours, which seem to make a difference - I also have an equally attractive green version, while the silver example seems to lose that charm. Luckily it was spared the usual Majorette policy of applying unrealistic garish decals. It features opening doors and spring bar suspension, which didn't travel too well on the playroom floor but was satisfyingly absorbant. Its the only Saab modelled by the brand to date.

This was my 87 RX-7 Turbo II. It was nicely done, with a mildly ported engine, a bored turbo wastegate, Racing Beat exhaust, Tokico shocks, RB springs, RB swaybars, and bushings. It also had the round tail lights and rear spoiler off a 91 GTO. Sweet ride; went like stink!
