Timex 1978 Porsche Tachometer. The pie pan watch is marked "Dial England" and uses the ubiquitous #25 movement. The angled silver ring functions as the manual tachometer. A Black Max model.

My youngest, six years, got his first watch today. He knew he
definitely wanted a digital watch that was water resistant and could
go under water. He is now timing everything ;-)
I'm a massive fan of the Dreamcast and of all the games Shenmue stands out as the most ambitious. But when playing this game I was not to realise that the watch used by Ryo Hazuki to ensure that he doesn't get home too late (or he'll get an earful from Ine-san) is loosely based on a Timex watch released at around the time of development. What adds confusion to that is that the game was developed over many years in the mid 90's. The game is based on the 80's meaning that this watch would not have existed in the game's setting!
I picked this watch up on eBay with the band in bad shape but the watch itself functioning rather well. I've since bought a replacement band as close to the original and proud to say this is perhaps the nerdiest item in my collection.
Timex 1975 Gold Automatic. Marked "Water Resistant" with interestesting markers. Runs well and keeps good time.

I thought i had lost this pen but found it in a coat pocket.
The pen's been there for 5 months and it still writes...the ink didn't dry up. The background is my plain reporter Moleskin notebook.
This watch is new-old-stock and has never been worn. It is in the original box with warranty card and hang tag. The watch measures 39mm x 43mm (without crown).

This is a Timex Indiglo night light alarm clock I picked up second hand about in the summer of 1998. It makes a weird high pitched whine when you hit the snooze/light button.
Vintage Timex Electric Watch from the late 60's or early 70's. It was my dad's and he gave it to me in high school. After over a year of repairs, I can wear it without it stopping. I am very happy.

The Timex strike started on 29th Jan 1993 and ended when the factory closed its doors on 29th August that year. A massive blow to the economy of Dundee. Timex had been an employer in Dundee for 40 years. The factory has gone. Timex has gone but the bitterness lingers on.
