Timex 1980 Racing Themed Diver with silver bezel. Marked "Water Resistant" & "Made in Taiwan." Excellent condition and keeping good time. Crystal has two light scratches that should come out easily.
I wore this Timex Expedition watch during most of the time I lived in Hawaii, until I lost it one day while out on the beach. Despite backtracking and retracing my steps, I was unable to find it.
I suspect one of the spring bars – the little metal pins that secure the strap to the watch case – broke. I wore the watch constantly, including while swimming and snorkeling in the ocean, so it is conceivable that the spring bars rusted and one of them finally broke.
Now that I know a little bit more about wristwatches, I have equipped almost all of my watches with what are called NATO-style wrist straps. The NATO strap is designed so that if one of the spring bars breaks or otherwise disengages, the watch remains attached by the remaining spring bar and the strap remains on the wrist.
Over the past two or so years I have been on a bit of a "watch kick" and have purchased far more than I need. They are all "affordable" watches in the low-end Timex price range. The combined cost of all the too-many watches I currently own is still considerably less than the price of a "nice" watch of the type I'd actually like to own (a DOXA diver watch, perhaps).
I am beginning to miss the simpler times when I owned only one wristwatch, but it was a watch I really liked. I bought another Timex Expedition to replace this one after I lost it. The new watch was a different model, and although I still have it, I never liked it quite as much as I liked the one I lost. I followed the replacement Timex with another Expedition and a Timex Weekender; both decent watches, both still running, but, well... at the present time I have too many watches.
I suspect I know the source of the "psychological issues" that have contributed to my cheap wristwatch obsession; it has to do with other, currently unaffordable things I once had but have, for various reasons, lost.
Timex Indiglo. I had to start using the watch my brother gave me after I lost my Timex Expedition, which I had purchased specifically for nursing school clinicals.
The Timex Sinclair 1000 is the North American version of the Sinclair ZX-81, from British based Sinclair Research Ltd. They are nearly identical, except for the name on the front, and minor motherboard layout differences.
Timex watch from the 80s. It's a winding watch with a Maratac NATO strap. I've read online they were also called "throw away or disposable" watches.

Timex 1971Electric Diver Watch with #40 movement. The watch is marked "Water Resistant" on the caseback but not on the front. It has a black dial, raised silver and gold dotted markers, and an red inner ring with crosshairs. The hands are white and luminous, the second hand is the sporty orange hand found on other Timex Diver and Tachometer watches. The watch needs a new crystal. It has a black bezel which is off for cleaning or replacement.
Timex 1970 Diver Project Watch with #25 movement. Needs a new movement as current one will not engage stem correctly. The watch itself is marked "Water Resistant" and has orange-yellow luminous markings, hands, and second hand.
The Daily Shoot #ds194 - Clocks are omnipresent in modern life. Make a photo of the clock, watch, or other device that you use most to tell time.
Truth be told I use the clock on my computer most of the time to tell the time, but I do use this watch every day to time my runs.
This is actually the third version of this watch I've had. They all break the same way. Eventually the start button stops working. It's almost like it wasn't designed to be used as a stopwatch. They keep replacing it for free, so I keep getting them :)
