For group "Macro Mondays" and this week's theme "Time."

Procrastinating on this week's shot and rushed for time. I chose to simply dunk my trusty Timex in the kids' sand box as they played nearby, innocently unaware of this ultimate adversary called time.

Much more to me than an affordable time piece. I'd call it an old friend but it's more reliable and much less forgiving then one would ever expect of a friend.

Happy Crazy Tuesday! ~ Outdated for me anyway, haven't worn a watch for many years!

Day 124 365 Project

I bought this Navi XL Automatic to hopefully satisfy my craving for a luxury watch. The quality is decent for what it is. I planned on stopping buying watches but the itch must be scratched. I really wanted my next purchase to be a mid tier piece. The Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow, Planet Ocean, Aqua Terra, Rolex Air King and Panerai Luminor have been on my radar. We'll see what happens in the future...

This is the oldest in my vast collection of broken watches. Whether wind-up or battery-driven, they always died on me until I started wearing them on my right wrist instead of the left.

My Dons Vintage Toddlers Snoopy Timex Watch.. Dial is about 1 1/2” And he played hard in it.. 😂

I put a CR2016 lithium battery into this Timex Expedition last night, and it still works fine. This used to be my beater work watch until the band broke several years ago. I ordered a new canvas band for it last night so that I can return it to duty.

Details of one of my old watches.

Timex has exceeded all of my expectations with this contemporary release! This is one of the highest quality pieces in this price range and a little above. 42mm stainless steel case with circular brushing on top of the lugs and a polished stepped bezel. Crisp chamfered edge next to horizontal brushing on the side of the case and a signed crown. The panda dial is light grey with quality print, indiglo and a black seconds sub dail is above the 6. Supple 20mm black leather strap with grey stitching and a signed buckle. No traditional loud ticking quartz movement here. $54 well spent.

A little somthing I picked up in the US.

TIMEX baby

I came across this watch while looking through a drawer. I bought this when I worked in retail many, many years ago. I remember loving this watch and thinking how fancy it was,

Yes I came home from the y with two watches on (without realizing it)

The timex WAS under my shirt

And it WAS kind of loud and crazy at the y tonight so I got

distracted ...

New bands for all!

Left to Right:

Seiko 5 Automatic. One of those rebuilt Seiko 5s from India. Works fine as long as you wear it daily. Original band was a super cheapo, so I changed it.

Timex Expedition. Blue face digital/analog dial. I bought this around 1995 at Walmart. Good all around watch, and it keeps excellent time. The original band was a link type but kept opening. I bought the green cloth band from eBay.

Timex Expedition: Another Walmart purchase from 2009 or so. Like my other Timex, it keeps perfect time. New band from, dare I say, Walmart. My beater work watch.

This poor old Timex needs repair and cleaning, but still has some charm -- though I also like the soft pink gleam of its plastic successor!
