Continuing to explore product photography. This is a Timex watch on black background. I used black foamcore board covered with a regular glass bookcase shelf. This worked OK except for the fact that a glass sheet has two reflective surfaces resulting in two reflections of the subject. I wish I had a nice piece of black acrylic instead. I'll buy one when I come across it in a store.
The light is provided by two strobes in the softboxes on both sides of the subject. The placement and orientation of the softboxes was chosen to have the proper reflections in the watch and the bracelet.
WOTD Vintage Friday: Although my father has vintage watches in his collection, although I grew up with many watches as gifts, as an older teen, I began interning for a politician and I had to dress professionally but I didn't want to wear the all gold bling my grandmother gave me anymore. I didn't make much money in my teen years and the only watch I can afford at the time before I started interning was a Timex 395 LA. It's been 20-years now since I bought this but it reminds me how far I have come, not only as a watch collector but also in my professional career.
My new watch. Also testing Nokia E72's Close-Up ability when taking a picture of a shiny material. (Result: sometimes the has trouble focusing when it's focusing LED got reflected to the lens)
Replaced the crystal, band and crown. Actually forgot about this one, pulled it out of the box and it fired right up.
The shape of this watch is almost new. Mint dial, hands and day/date wheel.
Plated case shows no wear less one small bit at the caseback which shows a slight bit of wearthrough.
Timex Expedition. This is the watch I purchased for nursing clinicals. I got it at Wal-mart. Now I've lost it...

The mighty Zilog Z80 CPU inside of a Timex Sinclair 1000 (also known as the ZX81 outside the USA).
I bought this TS 1000 at the Cuyahoga Falls Hamfest earlier this month. Unfortunately, it's non-functional but it sure looks beautiful inside.
The Z80 CPU was very prolific and versions of it were used in lots of products that were household names like the Game Boy, the TI-83, the Pac-Man and Frogger arcade games, and the ColecoVision home game console. I think this may be the first time I've actually seen a real Z80 with my own eyes though.
I believe this to be from the mid 2000s as it has the website on the back. New old stock. Never used
