Timeless Echoes

The Highlights of a Decade Long Musical Journey

Presented By: The Old Joes Choir

30th and 31st of August 2008 at The British School Auditorium

It has been ten years, and The Old Joes Choir has come a long way, evolving musically, and as an entity that continues to enthral its public. A decade of dabbling, experimenting and extending the boundaries and limits of sound and music has stood in good stead, enabling a group of talented and committed individuals hone and perfect something they were already good at.

It was in 1997 that The Old Joes Choir embarked upon their musical journey; a voyage that has augured well and ushered in positive change, along with a loyal audience, fans of choral music, who have stood by them through the last ten years of evolution. Thus, it is only right that The Old Joes Choir pay tribute to their loyal, unwavering fans, and their decade old journey, through a musical celebration of the last ten years.

You are welcomed to witness a unique event, involving diversity in sound and style, in celebration of a ten year old journey, as The Old Joes Choir embarks upon a voyage of rediscovery; an expedition that will strike at the very core of their musical soul. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be enthralled, as they go back to their roots to present you with our Timeless Echoes.

Tic-tok, Tic-tok, Tic-tok,Tic-tok

by TICKING CLOCK.......

Thick fog on the Thames at Strand-on-the-Green in Chiswick, west London on Wednesday December 11 2013. Pleasure cruiser Queen Elizabeth, moored here at Kew Pier, was built in 1926. It was only when I got home and viewed this full screen that I realised it could have been taken at any time from 1926 onwards. One of the very last shots I took, almost as an afterthought, on a long morning by the river turned out to be one of my all time personal favourites. I love the "mist-ical" space of what is not in the image, which allows me to reflect on the timeless nature of Old Father Thames along with all who have stood in this spot before...and all who will follow.

It is always nice to explore nature which is everlasting.

Walking through the small hillside villages in corfu we seen this lovely image of a lady bashing walnuts outside her farm....I just had to capture it....

Spring is here again. Taken in my front garden.

My wife has been training her butt off - literally - for the upcoming BP MS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin.

We wanted to take a few shots of her in her team jersey to commemorate the achievement. Unfortunately we picked the windiest day in our area. We also had a window that only allowed us to take the photos in the noon sun. We made the most of it but I'm thinking we need to go back and try again to remove the eye squint and hair fly.

A beautiful end to the Timeless Audrey exhibit. I believe there's supposed to be a bit of earth from every country Audrey visited on her goodwill missions in that display.

Audrey and her much-loved pets through the years.

Drawings and sketches done by Audrey in childhood. Many are used by the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund now as greeting cards.

I don't collect 16 inch dolls and certainly not BJDs and fantasy themes but when I saw her last year I was totally in love. I love her ghastly look and the story around her. I think she is based on the Corpse Bride and is supposed to be dead living in her old self's attic but not knowing she is dead. It is kind of creepy but also mysteriously interesting. Apparently she works at a morgue. What a mysterious job, but in her case kind of cute. Poor thing has been sitting in my closet this whole year greeting me everytime I am about to get dressed but has never been taken out to photograph. She is definitely not great to pose and her hands are huuuge. But I just love her face and I love the fact that you can change her hair since she is wearing a wig. Like I said, I don't collect 16 inch dolls. The only time i get one is when I am totally blown away and purchase it as a one time piece. I really love the Evangeline ghastly line, though, because it is kind of unique and has this specific, Tim Burton-ish type of theme.

Continuously changing light is reflecting in a timeless statue through a spider's web.

I always liked this dress.
