It was right after the fireworks were finished for the 4th of July on the other side of the Ambassador bridge.
Just an older image sitting in the queue. It is funny, but when I see these older shots I want them to go on flickr on the right kind of day.

Dalmatian pelican ( αργυροπελεκάνος )
The Dalmatian pelican (Pelecanus crispus) is a massive member of the pelican family. It breeds from southeastern Europe to India and China in swamps and shallow lakes.
This huge bird is by a slight margin the largest of the pelican species and one of the largest living bird species. It also appears to have one of the largest wingspans of any living bird, rivaling those of the great albatrosses and the great white pelican.

I am intrigued by the fact that this pic could have been taken now or almost hundred years ago. The black-and-whiteness enhances this timeless sensation.

Todays challenge for the daily shoot was Find something that's so old it's almost timeless and make a photograph of it.
I think this falls into the category OK, but not 100% sure, what do you all think
Kahlil Gibran
Early morning fog settles amongst trees and shrubs.
I have a deep respect for trees and their ability to endure through the years the hardships that the weather brings. From frost to extreme heat they always seem to bounce back, perhaps not as beautiful as before, they are survivors. Their beauty is timeless no matter how ravaged they may become.

A secluded alleyway, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city around it. Little change here over the years, almost timeless.
The beautifully restored magical horses of historic Jane's Carousel gallop in circles inside a glass case along the waterfront near the Brooklyn Bridge.
