So apparently the iPad came out today. I'm not sure what my opinion until i get a chance to visit the Apple Store and actually touch and play with it. I was hoping the price range be around 200, but as always my predictions are always wrong. Is anyone getting the iPad today?

I was hiking and taking pictures at Valley Forge National Park, when I came across these three riding horses. I think they thought I was crazy as a I ran ahead of them ( they were moving very slow) and got to this spot.
P97 skirts down the street running to pull out its cut of cars from the yard. Thoroughbred Dash 9s have been a classic sight here for the past 2 and a half decades, and hopefully will last a little longer. However, with the onslaught of C6M rebuilds being completed, the number of THB units dwindles further.

I owe my life to a horse, I owe my life to the wind and to the rain,
the sun and to the stars
I owe my life to the grass underfoot and to the shadow of the trees
I owe my life to all of these for without them my life would not have been

This photograph features Mount Kazbegi, one of Georgia’s most iconic peaks, rising dramatically above the lush valleys of the Greater Caucasus. The snow-covered summit stands in striking contrast to the deep green slopes and the quiet village below, connected by a winding mountain road. The scene reflects the raw grandeur of the Caucasus and the enduring harmony between nature and human settlement in this timeless landscape.

Looking forward to getting back to this place. I've done more traveling this year than most of my life, and the shoot from this day was up there with the best.
I often daydream, while waiting trackside for trains, of bygone eras, of watching Pennsy steam locomotives, or The Broadway Limited, or Penn Central, or even good ol' Conrail blue.
One we discover how to appreciate the timeless values in our daily experiences, we can enjoy the best things in life.

Sometimes they bloom early, sometimes late. All in response to temperature and light and more subtle things we can only guess at. But the dance is timeless. Magnolia Merrill (Magnolia x loebneri 'Merrill').
So glad to report that the computer is back, apparently fixed, and seems to be running even faster than usual. It's a relief to be sitting in front of it.
I wanted the first photo back to be a good one, so I chose this. Studio work ought to be timeless, and I'd like to think this portrait fits that description.

Lots of challenges getting on to Flickr still my fine flickr friends. It appears Bad Panda is the Hungary of the Upload World and not allowing me entry ....so I am trying to wiggle under the fence to get in.
Shot from Bali - pulled car over on the way to Echo Beach as was struck by this elderly gentleman working in his paddy field. He stood ramrod straight and looked directly into the camera. His equanimity and dignity were humbling to me who shys away from the camera.
I see fire, determination, peace, gentleness, wisdom and sadness in his eyes...what do you see ?
Bear with me until I can get full access on here to catch up on your wonderful shots.
The Arches and this area's land has a timeless, indestructible look that is misleading. This area is a very fragile high desert ecosystem. Effected by wind, rain, snow, runoff, dust storms and visitors.
In this photo the sun has given the sandstone a radiant orange color.
Funny thing is, it is hot here 80 degree's and yet there is still snow on the mountains in the back ground.
