Backlighting from the late morning sun illluminates the moss overhanging old cypress trees at their peak of fall color.
This photo was taken during the photo tour I led in Morocco back in February this year. It shows some remote mountains in the south of Morocco. Since, as usual, there were no clouds for sunset I decided to leave the camera in place and photograph some star trails later.
Now I have just released an in depth start to finish tutorial where I show my complete processing workflow for star trail images. On my homepage you'll also find a 25% discount code active for all my tutorials: www.mibreit-photo.com/tutorials.html

A SUNSET. (excerpt from a poem by Victor Hugo)
...All vanishes! The Sun, from topmost heaven precipitated,
Like a globe of iron which is tossed back fiery red
Into the furnace stirred to fume,
Shocking the cloudy surges, plashed from its impetuous ire,
Even to the zenith spattered in a flecking scud of fire
The vaporous and inflamed spume...
The Longest day, the shortest night, happy SUMMER SOLSTICE...
For me, no matter how many sunsets... each one different and fresh and rich and more spectacular than the previous one, a miracle to my eyes each time.
Dusk is probably my favourite time, to reflect back on the day and look forward to the evening , the next day, the next sunset...and such, life passes...
Nature at its best.
This is again taken from the terrace of the penthouse we used to live in, one side overlooking the sea, the other the town.
Even after a full day’s work I would very much relax with a glass of Chardonnay and my camera, looking at the sea-traffic and ultimately the sunset. This is one of them. Different? I'll let you be the judge of that.

Wishing you a glorious day and thanx for your visit, M, (*_*)

Two fly fishing rods; one from now, and one from then. Both are built of the best known material for exceptional performance in each of their respective eras. For strength, lightness, and performance, the old one is handcrafted from bamboo, and likewise, the new one is manufactured with high-performance graphite. It is an evolution of technology and material for a piece of equipment that, in itself, has not changed for hundreds of years.
Although I've never used the bamboo rod for fishing, my guess is that it would still stack up quite well against the graphite!

A beautiful car parked just off the docks in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I love how the car matched the building and retro style of the "Live Lobster" sign. The only problem is I am not exactly sure what make of car this is, I am guessing a Cadillac something, so if you know please drop a line in the comments!

Day 13: Picture Fall
I love the trunks of trees. Some are smooth, others are rough and some are very colourful or have peeling bark.
This particular one appealed to me because of the interesting surface and how we can see a reddish colour where the bark has split open.

An old Bible in the church at Butterton, Staffordshire. I just thought it looked more timeless in sepia-tone.
This is my favourite tree along the Midland Highway in Tasmania. I've photographed it on many occasions and every time it looks a little bit different: a few more limbs have fallen, a different sky, a bird in flight in the background ...
This shot is from a slightly different angle so you can see a small group of trees to the side - several times when i've taken this tree there has been a bird in flight - if you look closely, you can just see a bird in the branches of the tree to the right. From what i've seen at other times at this location, I think this is a Wedge Tailed Eagle - this must be its nesting location.
I'm sure this old tree has a tale to tell about its survival!
I designed a new room with this inspiration for my South-American hacienda located at Le Chateau.

These past few weeks was the Delta Fair, and this was my first time attending the delta fair. All of these years I attended the Mid-South Fair instead of Detla Fair. It's always fun to attend fair mainly for atmosphere that the fair brings, and sometime the performance by famous artists.
The following are the pictures are taken during the fair
so enjoy! and have a great monday!

1933 LaSalle Convertible Coupe
LaSalle was an American brand of luxury automobiles manufactured and marketed by General Motors' Cadillac division from 1927 through 1940. Alfred P. Sloan developed the concept for LaSalle and certain other General Motors' marques in order to fill pricing gaps he perceived in the General Motors product portfolio. Sloan created LaSalle as a companion marque for Cadillac. LaSalle automobiles were manufactured by Cadillac, but were priced lower than Cadillac-branded automobiles and were marketed as the second-most prestigious marque in the General Motors portfolio.
Like Cadillac, the LaSalle brand name was based on that of a French explorer, René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle.

For 1933, both the Cadillac V-8 and the “junior Cadillac,” the LaSalle, adopted new streamlined styling, including a redesigned radiator shell and skirted fenders, as well as vacuum-assisted brakes. The LaSalle was further distinguished by a hood with ventilation doors rather than louvers, unique bumpers, and redesigned lights, and rode a chassis shortened by four inches.
Unfortunately, as the Great Depression wielded its wrath, sales plunged to 3,482 cars, resulting in this being the last year that the LaSalle would share many of its components with the Cadillac.
In some respects, LaSalle had it all – the engineering of a Cadillac combined with leading-edge styling and design. Enthusiasts today recognize the ’33 as one of the rarest and most desirable examples of the marque and there can be no doubt, this is one the finest example.

Although “divorced” from the Cadillac line in 1933, the name and production did continue until 1941 when the line was finally shelved for good. Billed as a prestige marque and although a finely crafted automobile, it never quite measured up to the “status” of a Cadillac.
