What is time?

Sometimes it seems to go on so fast and the other time it just refuses to go on. An then there are the times when time just stops beeing as stunned as you are.

But in the end time is our anchor. We refer to it every day and couldn´t really live without. But time could. Time is endless and we aren´t. So let´s enjoy the moments when time seems to stop and create more of these moments

Sydney Trains K Sets K82 & K79 arrives into Yennora with run 40-F to Leppington. This would be one of my final shots of a K Set in the sun during the evening peak with the timetable update occurring in April 2026

I recently visited an old car graveyard that I hadn't been to in years. It is such an amazing place to explore and see these time capsules. Many of them still have people personal items inside. There is always something unique to find. I especially like the old hood emblems and badges on a lot of the old classic cars there. I believe this one is from an old Cadillac...maybe late 40's or early 50's. Someone correct me if I wrong.

A timeless scene from a branch line somewhere in England or Wales as passengers leave a train at a wayside halt from a humble DMU.

Actually the preserved class 108 unit at Carrog on the Llangollen Railway at their summer DMU gala in 2017.

It was such a nice day!

A candid moment in the heart of Rome. Her laughter, spontaneous and bright, cuts through the summer heat. With the Colosseum watching in the background, this simple scene becomes something timeless — a joyful pause in the middle of history.

In 1991, a full-blown sugar beet campaign came to the Klamath Basin. Although the crop was new to the area, the method of transporting the beets to a refinery for processing into sugar had been used for decades. At Stronghold, California on Black Friday 1991 (before the day after Thanksgiving was enshrined with that name), an ancient beet rack is loaded with produce from nearby fields.

Their faces tell a story. Probably the oldest group of models that have ever posed for me! This was a transparency shot with the brilliant Plaubel Makina 67 on Fuji RHP outside Hong Kong in an old walled village - and copied with the dp3

Paris is brimming with atmosphere due to its timeless blend of history, art, and romance. Cobblestone streets lined with cafés exude charm, while iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame create a sense of grandeur. The Seine’s gentle flow reflects the city’s poetic spirit, and the art-rich neighborhoods, from Montmartre to Le Marais, radiate creativity. Paris’s culinary delights, fashion-forward flair, and vibrant culture envelop visitors in an ambiance that feels both intimate and universal.

Banff National Park.....earlier this summer.

This follows on from my previous post of the Lincoln Memorial. I wanted something a little different for this image - to play the stillness and power of Lincoln's statue and the words behind him against the movement and impermanence of the site's thousands of daily visitors. Would love to know what you think!

The Battenkill made a Monday run down to the Pan Am interchange at Eagle Bridge. The 66 year old Alco RS3 is on the return with 3 loads for Cargill and one flatcar with ties which were dropped just outside of Eagle Bridge and Shushan as they pass the former depot in downtown Cambridge, NY photo taken October 22, 2018

Innovation in interior design: Seen here is the très chic reception area near faculty offices. This stylish lobby offers visitors a breath of fresh air, in the form of a tasteful silk flower arrangement which predates the School of Nursing building (1970).

Thank you for dropping by!

This scene is about a year old, but it could have been the scene twenty years earlier. Two black back to back Illinois Central SD70's are rolling a freight north through Manteno, IL, on the route of the Main Line of Mid-America. Sure, the CN owns everything here now, but those classic straight cab EMDs are pretty much untouched. The leader was delivered in 1995, twenty five years ago. Some of its litter mates have been painted in the red nose Borg scheme, but quite a few have managed to escape total assimilation. Long may they run!
