There was a great light in the west last night after sunset. Taking this my feet where in Monaghan, the trees are in Fermanagh and the furthest mountain, Cuilcaigh, is in Cavan.
They were halfway across it when they found their path blocked by a hooded figure. And Death spoke to them. He was angry that he had been cheated out of three new victims, for travelers usually drowned in the river. But Death was cunning. He pretended to congratulate the three brothers upon their magic and said that each had earned a prize for having been clever enough to evade him.

A specialty variety of tulip, the petals tipped like stars, a gorgeous bright pink, with here and there a touch of the green brush...

Is this the only snowy picture I'm going to get this year - I'm beginning to think so. I was heading home from Glenridding when I drove through a blizzard in Dockray - nearly a complete white out. I pulled over and shot this with the D800 and 85mm lens that I just happened to have in the glove box. If we'd had a good winter I likely wouldn't have put this up on here but I'm doing it to remind myself what snow looks like.
