Banded Demoiselle Calopteryx splendens (Harris) Two males and a female.
The other similar shot to this one was a couple of frames earlier and in this one the male had moved his abdomen to a better position where it wasn't encroaching on the outline of the female.
This is my favorite of the sequence because i think it sits slightly better as a composition than the previous one.

Edinburgh during the easing of restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic (tier three).
Spaces for People measures on George IV Bridge. These were installed in the Old Town of Edinburgh during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide more space for pedestrians and cyclists. Emergency Traffic Regulation Orders (ETROs) were used throughout Edinburgh to provide extra room for social distancing and cycle lanes.
Although these measures claim to improve mobility, there are complaints they have done the opposite and those with disabilites have been adversely affected. The floating bus stop outside the main central library on this street, and opposite the National Library of Scotland, has been amended. The council say they are no longer installing floating bus stops (they are intrisincally dangerous - particularly for the hearing or sight impaired - and probably contrary to the Equality Act).
The internal auditors gave the implemention of the scheme a 'red' rating in August 2021 (see below). In the wake of this, and the lack of public support for the measures, traffic experts at the council are proposing rebranding Spaces for People as ‘Travelling Safely’. It is also reported the Spaces for People measures on George IV Bridge are to be 'scrapped' although the measures in other areas are to remain (16 Aug 2021).

Alternative infrastructure for cyclists will be put in place - let's hope it is better designed with people with disabilities in mind.

The city council belatedly held a consultation on the Spaces for People measures and reported this to the council’s Transport and Environment Committee on 17 June 2021. An Evening News report stated 17,600 people responded to the online public consultation which resulted in "overall opposition for a majority of the proposals except those designed to make school areas safer and less congested."
The Herald reported: "...only 38% of the public support the council’s protected cycle lanes compared to 56% who oppose them. Only 37% of people support measures along shopping streets and 35% back leisure connections." Furthermore businesses overwhelmingly oppose the policy. (Most of the businesses on this street are restaurants and have supplies delivered through their front doors.)

In early August 2021 it emerged Edinburgh City Council's internal auditors had given the council a red rating in relation to the Spaces for people scheme. The auditor's report said there was a lack of consultation with residents and "significant and/or numerous control weaknesses were identified, in the design and/or effectiveness of the control environment and/or governance and risk management frameworks".

The report said the specific measures were based on suggestions from a relatively small group of officers and community stakeholders and the final prioritisation decisions were based the judgment of two of the project team.

All three photos posted this morning were taken yesterday, 25 June 2016, when I drove SW of the city to possibly meet friends. No one was sure how bad the weather was going to be, as the forecast was for rain and thunderstorms. It had rained overnight, so everywhere was soaking wet. Normally, on a day like that, I stay home, but I'm really glad I did go, especially as I was able to find a Bobolink again. Or, perhaps I should say it found me. Three times now, when I have been photographing a particular pair of Mountain Bluebirds, I have heard a certain call, turned around, and there was a Bobolink sitting on a fence post across the road. It just kept up this call until I stopped what I was doing, crossed the road, and started taking photos of him, as if to say: "Hey, take my photo, too!"
I didn't think any friends were going to turn up, as I hadn't seen anything that looked like a small convoy of cars. Then suddenly, one single car came around a distant corner and stopped. Three people got out - Andrew, Tony and Howard. Three people who are excellent birders and who didn't let the weather keep them from doing what they love.
I followed them slowly as far as Brown-Lowery Provincial Park, where the day's walk was supposed to take part, stopping to look at various birds along the way, Once there, we parted ways, as I didn't want hours of walking in mud and dripping trees. Instead, I wandered for a few minutes near the parking lot, where I took my next two photos and then I returned to the Bluebirds, where the Bobolink reappeared and repeated his behavior, giving me another chance for photos.
And now I have to dash, as I overslept almost an hour, and I have to pick up a friend and then do a long drive NW of the city, where we will be meeting others for a walk, followed by a BBQ. Ths annual event is always very enjoyable - just hope the forecast rain and thunderstorms stay away! Will have to finish off my tags this evening. Gotta run!

We camped for a night just a few kilometers from this spot, knew there was the possibility of stormy weather, and caught this scene before it arrived. An hour later, with darkness falling, we watched a very large cell moving slowly along the North shore of the St Lawrence from where we stood. The next day we learned that it had a downdraft in excess of 100 km/hr and there was considerable damage where it had passed.
The outskirts of Trois Pistoles, where this picture was taken, was named after a silver goblet supposedly worth three gold coins. The area has a fascinating history - it's hosted the University of Western Ontario's French immersion program since 1932, and Basque whalers used an island just offshore in the 16th century.
Three Brothers in Yosemite at sunrise. I visit this spot every time I go to Yosemite. The calmness and tranquil here makes it one of my favorite locations to spend a morning at with my camera and a cup of coffee.
At THREE CLIFFS, Sunday we had a pleasant walk along some of the finest limestone coastal lines in Wales. Enjoyed the spectacular views over Gower and South Pembrokeshire. An ideal picnic spot on at Gower peninsula, most iconic beach along rigid and treacherous terrains with a view of Pennard Castle ruins.
From the Three Cliffs Bay Holiday (holiday resort) car park bear right and followed the path as it starts winds its way along the coastal slope trail path, both sides are fully covered with wild flowers of different colours that make a wonderful mind blowing display of this spring. When we continue along the walk we have seen some finest cottages and bungalows scattered in the remotes of West Cliff, where we left behind those the walk already began to go downhill, the spectacular ocean view all along is panoramic and we gradually descended into the sandy area of dunes of Three Cliffs Bay.
Again continued down until we reached the bottom and further moved towards the river and crossed it through the stepping stones visible at that time was low-tide. The fantastic view of Pennard Castle along the river valley on our left side and the standing aloof Three Cliffs on the right end, outstanding and spectacular view. We packed up when the high-tide started to get the stepping stones across the river not to be get stranded over night or until the next low-tide.
The Franciscan church with Tromostovje (Three Bridges or Triple Bridge), is one of the symbols of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
The front façade of the church was built in the Baroque style in 1703–1706 and completely redesigned in 1858 according to the plans of the Austrian painter Franz Kurz zum Thurn und Goldenstein. Its red colour replaced the earlier classical white

Three Cliff Bay, is a bay on the south coast of the Gower Peninsula in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. The bay takes its name from the three sea cliffs that jut out into the bay. Pennard Pill, a large stream, flows into the sea in the middle of the bay.

The wreck that can be seen off the harbour is the coaster SS Vina which was used for target practice by the RAF before sinking in 1944. The Vina was built at Leith by Ramage & Ferguson in 1894, and was registered at Grangemouth. She was a coast-hugging general cargo ship which would have worked the crossings between the east coast of England and through to the Baltic states.
As she neared the end of her useful seagoing life in 1940, Vina was requisitioned as a naval vessel for wartime use, carrying a crew of 12. With Great Yarmouth being a strategic port on the east coast, the ultimate fate for the ship would have been to have had her hold filled with explosives, and destroyed at the mouth of the harbour, thus blocking entry in the event of Nazi invasion. However, as this threat passed, she was taken out of service and towed up the east coast towards Brancaster where she was used as a target for the RAF before the planned invasion of Normandy.
The ship was subsequently sunk and the wreck remains on the sandbank to this day. Numerous efforts have been made to retrieve the wreckage as the ship was not only a danger to navigation, but also an attraction to the holiday makers on Brancaster beach who regularly walked out to the vessel's remains at low tide. Lives have been lost due to these ill-advised actions and the local lifeboats and RAF rescue helicopters have been pressed into service on many occasions each summer.
Removal efforts have long been abandoned due to the excessive costs involved. One ambitious suggestion involved blowing the remains up, but it was calculated that so much explosive would be needed, the subsequent explosion would have broken every window in Brancaster and Brancaster Staithe. A touch apocryphal maybe, but, even so, the wreck is destined to spend many more decades on the sands before time and tide eventually erode it completely.
The tide was coming in so I didn't try to get any nearer :-) reading the above I'm glad!

Still having a hectic time finishing up the Construction drawing for a very fussy client...sigh...I'm taking a break from the lines, geometry and things so-called architecture, most of the times photography is an escape from our real life schedules, just like painting and music.
Need to reschedule my timetable again for the " i want it now" 3D image of the little housing scheme....sigh again....
