Elephant Seals ~ San Simeon

A quick walk in the woods today with bright sunshine so used that to create a couple of images I saw the spiders web as I was walking past and so went back to capture the image. And then I saw the four leaves three in the bright light and one in the shade.

Another great shot of these kids. Slowly editting pics from our time out a week or so ago, but really like this one. The youngest is really starting to like getting his picture taken as much as the other two.

It was cool to get three different birds in the same shot. Great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), red-breasted merganser (Mergus serrator), and common goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) at Grashopkjosen on Senja island, Norway.

Scooter (front) joined her sisters Hope and Joy at the pet fair this weekend. She is being treated for heartworm and therefore wasn't out last weekend. They seem to think squeezing all three into the litter box is the best thing to do.

Update 11/28/2009: Little Hope found someone to take her home today, yeay! The other two actually didn't come out to the pet fair since they managed to hurt themselves and were limping this week.

Update Jan. 2010: All of these three cuties have been adopted by now. Hurray!

Three hours waiting for my flight and here is one of the results. Another shot from outside the International terminal at SFO. Original image has been cropped a bit for a pano as the light at the top of the pole was a bit intrusive!

In photo one I used the matt effect

In photo two I used an ink frame

In photo three I used a true vintage effect

Doc Stebbins' little nephew came down for the summer. He's a real precocious tyke, Ernest is, both mechanically and with the second sight. Here Ernest is entertaining the three headless angels by giving them a ride on the machine he constructed. Little do the angels know it's a working time machine... The little imp's apple hasn't fallen far from his uncle's tree.
