These are "buffalo gourds" that grow wild here in New Mexico. I got these from my side yard last year. It took about 9 months for them to dry out. In the process, different molds will grow on the surface. This accounts for their appearance. They are not very big (the one on the right is about the size of a tennis ball). Once fully dried, they are very light.
Is this the only snowy picture I'm going to get this year - I'm beginning to think so. I was heading home from Glenridding when I drove through a blizzard in Dockray - nearly a complete white out. I pulled over and shot this with the D800 and 85mm lens that I just happened to have in the glove box. If we'd had a good winter I likely wouldn't have put this up on here but I'm doing it to remind myself what snow looks like.
Busy being fabulous and trying on three dresses. While I was there the store's background music seemed so suitable that it needs to be replayed in the video.
