“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

- Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

Those iconic red telephone boxes. But no Dr in sight. It seems the Tardis is a Police box not a red Telephone box!

This is Lisa, cub of Ryan (if I got the spelling of her name right), and she is one of dozens of jaguars named in "Jaguarland", a small section of the Pantanal. She was one of the 11 individual jaguars we found in the 4 days we stayed at the SouthWild Flotel.

Taken on a photo tour guided by Juan Carlos Vindas of Neotropic Photo Tours.

Today we're along the Arizona Strip, the section of land separated from the rest of the territory by that 'ditch' otherwise known as Grand Canyon National Park. We'd been camping on the Kaibab Plateau and we're heading northward into the wilds of Utah, into the monsoonal storms under these Maynard Dixon-style skies, of which, we'll pass by his home near Mt. Carmel in Utah later that day.

I love them, they last at least 2 weeks in a vase. Beauties.

Alstroemeria, the genus named after the Swedish baron Alströmer who brought them back from a trip to South America in 1753.

Also called the Peruvian Lily or Inca Lily, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants.

Almost all of the species are restricted to one of two distinct centers of diversity, one in central Chile, the other in eastern Brazil.

Species of Alstroemeria from the Atacama Desert of Chile are winter-growing plants while those of Brazil are summer-growing.

The flower, which resembles a miniature lily, is very popular for bouquets and flower arrangements in the commercial cut flower trade.

Have a lovely day and as always, THANK you for your time, M, (*_*)

Those stairs leads to some of my bests memories... Hidden in a secluded part of Uganda, a luxury outdoor style hotel (I don't know how to describe it!), all to myself... A beautiful campfire, some amazing food, a gigantic room all to myself...

And also the WORST food poisoning (and consequently night) of my life.

Name: Stolas

Breed: Friesian

Age: 19 years old

Stallion

Year of Birth 2005

Stolas is the traditional Friesian horse. His coat is a dark rich almost purple black. His mane and tail, both thick and long, are almost always braided up. Today we took them down so everyone can truly see how long they are. He’s most well known for Dressage, but loves to pull carriage from time to time. Currently he is in the early stages of retirement focusing on relaxing and siring foals. He has two colts currently, Vox and Taiga. Both young horses are in training, and showing real promise!

For those who have seen Stolas and I over the years, you may have likely noticed his unique eye color. His eye color reveals his true self. Stolas may appear to be a traditional Friesian horse, but he is really a black unicorn. His true age is only known to a few, myself included. Some equestrian facilities have welcomed his true form where others have asked that it remain hidden. He’s always understanding. He is my oldest and truest friend.

He is currently standing stud at Mordeth Farms. Inquiries can be made to Bex Mordeth (bex.waifu) by direct message or NOR Phone 541.522.4075.

Those are the three steps to evening fun. Jasper's got the formula down.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves

Among the fields of barley

You can tell the sun in his jealous sky

When we walked in fields of gold

So she took her love for to gaze awhile

Among the fields of barley

In his arms she fell as her hair came down

Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me will you be my love

Among the fields of barley

And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky

When we walked in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly

And there have been some that I've broken

But I swear in the days still left

We will walk in fields of gold

We'll walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly

And there have been some that I've broken

But I swear in the days still left

We will walk in fields of gold

We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days

Among the fields of barley

See the children run as the sun goes down

As you lie in fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves

Among the fields of barley

You can tell the sun in his jealous sky

When we walked in fields of gold

Those brown seed pods will soon fall to the ground sending their seeds into my flowerbeds to try to start a forest there.

Those endlessly overgrown thickets that might at some dim time in the past been lovingly called boxwoods, were now in a state of complete abandonment. Their foully twisted branches and withered mottled leaves, a living testament to the stunted mutations which everywhere abounded prolifically; from the flat, impossibly abhorrent crabgrass that leant a cancerous appearance to the brown lawn, to the fungal rotten and moss encrusted line of sickly maple that spread their eerily shaped silhouettes over the warped root and down the cracked and falling front of the elder structure

For years, I have been shooting them whenever I come to the 17-mile drive in Carmel. This time, I 've got to try to shoot with cinefilm.

Another of those postcard type images I captured walking around the grounds of Gateway Arch National Park. Composing the image and metering was a matter of finding that centered point from a nearby rise to fill the arch while including some nearby people walking about. Including people was also useful for perspective to fully take in the immense size and scale to the Gateway Arch. And yes, towering above! Metering was then a matter of finding a shutter speed that seemed to best capture the dynamic range across the clouds to brighter points reflecting some sunlight which came in and out of clouds to the west. I finished up post-processing work in Capture NX2 by adding a few CEP filters (Low Key, Polarization and Graduated Neutral Density) for the final image.

One of my favourite places in Dorset. Mupe Bay. Sunday morning there was barely another soul around. After shooting down at the ledges, James and I headed back up to take in the views from the cliff top. As we sat and chilled out, the beauty of the scene captivated me. The Jurassic Coast ranks with the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon as one of the recognised natural wonders of the world!

Escaping from the tomb and putting someone else in their place.

Rather than quoting Bible verses you're going to hear a whole lot today and half of you will discredit as cult utterances, I thought I'd just put this out instead: Angels, Heaven, and other aspects of our faith are concepts difficult to wrap one's head around, and right now we can't. So a lot of people dismiss them as petty imaginings and larger-than-life reflections of things we can see and touch. "Giant humans with bird wings? Haha how pagan."

Consider, just for a brief while, the implications of perhaps these being original concepts; our concepts and ideas little reflections that are missing pieces, and the only way those who saw angels or Heaven could describe them was through Earthly terms, resulting in outrageous-sounding descriptions filled with lions' heads, wheels within wheels, and a lot of gold when there simply was no way to utter the element that made their appearance unutterable. Plato, though not completely right, had hit on something with his Myth of the Cave, now you just need someone to guide you out of it...

Last day was a great day to be at this location that i wanted to visit for a very long time now, maybe mother nature was saving this day for me so i can experience one of the best sunset ever!

I have been to this location, but just to shoot some Astro-photography and now i was there just at the right time and the right moment! This made it easy for me to capture some great shots from this amazing location

Its a blend of 2 shots, the -1 and -2 because i really liked the darker tones but yet was able to retain enough information due too the amazing Dynamic range of the D810!

It was shot at f16, to get the best possible sun star from the sun, even though its dimly visible

Hope you like it, feel free to share!

first shred 4 ounces of your favored soap, for us it is our home made stuff. If you make it yourself, lower the super fat content of the soap if it is just for laundry, and it will clean the clothing better. for those buying it from a store, just be sure you use real soap, not detergent. soap for those who don't know, is saponified oils (vegetable or animal) that are changed from oils to a salt using an alkaie. in other words some one used lye or potash to make soap by mixing it with oils, and watching to make sure the chemical reaction needed took place.
