Cormorant flapping and airing its wings at Weymouth Dorset UK a few years ago now. Came across this shot while looking through some old photos.

With 40 degrees heat, after all those baking you sort of melt yourself.. not to mention your fondant. It just won't co-operate..

...yes, my fine flickr friends - the days when you would down to Bondi Beach in the morning and there would be nobody there . Those days are now gone as summer is here for the next 6 months and the beach is full of people from sun up to sun down.

I have been pretty busy over the last few days and have not had a chance to comment/fave and view, enjoy and be inspired by all your wonderful shots - so bear with me :)

Those dandelions never knew what hit em.

Sadly, this is the last shot from my SX-70. It's now broken.... =( Megatron's fusion cannon blast done 'er in. (seriously, it's broken)

It went back to the library today.

A first book by this Australian author set in a norhtern small town where everybody knows everything about everybody and roumors stay a long time.

This is just one of those photos that kind of pulls me in to it. The major subject here is that brand new Cotton Belt SD45T-2, just released from EMD and waiting to be taken west by a Rock Island freight. It's June, 1975, and the 9398 has company in the form of the Rock's E6 630, and a low nose GP9, the 1275. I got to thinking about these three, and some things that I learned when I did a little research. Of course, the 630 has been restored and is a proud piece of a museum, so it's alive and well today - well, at least it's in one piece and looks good. The 9398 has some fame of its own. It was chosen as one of the units that Athearn used to number their model of the tunnel motors. It's off the roster today and probably doesn't exist. Which leaves us with that old Rock Island 1275. It started life as a normal high hood GP9 for the Rock in the early 60s. Then, it was involved in a switching accident in Marseilles, IL which killed the head brakeman and heavily damaged the nose and cab of the 1275. The Rock put on the cab of a GP20, so its looks are deceiving. The 1275 then went to the Iowa Interstate and became IAIS 400, where it was involved in another wreck. It got rebuilt again, so it must be part cat. It wound up on the Northern Lines Railroad in St Cloud, MN, still as the 400. As of September of this year, it was still alive and working, So, I guess the last shall be first. In this case, the newest loco here, the 9398, was the first to die, while the oldest, the 630, still lives, and the 1275, though renamed, renumbered, and repainted, is probably still in one piece, too. So, as I stood there in the Rock's finest oil, mud, and goo, taking this picture, did I wonder what the future was? No, I was probably thinking I need another pair of shoes. That, and damn, I'm gonna have to clean the Charger's floors mats again.

I had to sneak up on the sidewalk but stay hidden behind trees to get some shot of the gang having their breakfast buffet at the neighbours house up the road so not to spook them.

I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. Have a super day!

Glad im not his dentist!! Taken at the Blue Planet Aquarium Cheshire.

Here is another shot of my photo session with Ginny and The Pirate (The horse's name is Piraten, Swedish equivalent). It was a very difficult shot to get with all that direct sunlight, hence the focus wasn't perfect.

Thank you all so much for your comments, faves and views!

For those of you in the Chingford area, I will be arranging an exhibition on behalf of the Copped Hall Trust at The View from March 1st and through the month. I will have some of my pics on display (including the little owl) but there will also be details of the archaeology work being undertaken and loads of handouts of what's going on this year.

The View sits next to the Elizabethan Hunting Lodge on Rangers Road just past Connaught Water. Hope you can visit.

think this one was made for the classic comedy film magnificent men in thier flying machines..

Controversial opinion: Milky Way shots are boring. Here’s one anyway. While I was setting up a lady snuck out of the night right behind me and commented that it was so clear it even showed up on her phone.

Pretty sure this is the camera’s B&W Acros file run through the emulation, which is not ideally how you want to do it, so don’t be like me.

⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

Ooh exciting news today.. I purchased my first ever dSLR!!! I bought a Canon 450d. I was tempted to go for a more high end camera but I'm still an amateur and I think it's probably a good idea to get familiar with the type of photography I want to pursue by such a versatile camera.. and then I can always upgrade! Plus it felt pretty good in my hands :D

Now would anyone have any advice for a decent lens?

Today was just one of those days that I am happy to put past me. It all began when my Mum tackled me first thing in the morning with the "what do you want to do with your life?" questions and the day went pretty much downhill from there..

I came across this awesome song and just have to share : )

...... How Lucky you are if you are indeed viewing my image without distress, discomfort or concern.

If you haven't already done so please take time to view my other image which connects & pieces together the growing problem we often dont think about.

Welcome to March in Pennsylvania!

I'm am SO ready!!

Those piercing eyes and pointy ears serve a fox well. Foxes have an excellent visual acuity and are able to see the slightest movements from far away while sprinting after their prey or navigating through forests. And for mammals, red foxes have the best known maximal absolute hearing sensitivity i.e. ultrasonic hearing!

I am sorry to spoil you with these not-perfect-in-focus-cherry-shots. But that's life, you can't always get what you want... In fact these are the same cherries (i think) but just in a different puddle on a different time.

About an hour after the rain of the other picture there was the brightest sunlight from the side but the puddles were still in the gutter.

So I went downstairs on the street, grabbed the cherries and put them into the light. I increased the saturation and cropped the picture, that's about it with the processing.

Thank you all so much for bringing sunshine into my life yesterday with your kind words. It means so much! I will be catching up soon!

those feet & legs are not made for walking !

In 2001, we figured the McCloud Railway was probably on borrowed time - we just didn't know how little there was left. That summer, I had a job at Oregon Tech. The campus was closed on Fridays as an energy conservation measure. I spent those Fridays burning hydrocarbons chasing nearby shortlines.

I was fortunate to make two trips to the McCloud Railway. Although I did not get a train on the line to Burney, the trains I did catch that were going to Lookout and Mount Shasta City were just fine with me. Since I had managed to get this shot several times, getting the mountain blocked out by clouds was no big deal.

In a little less than five years, the McCloud would cease hauling pine across the mountain. Although this track is still in place, the likelihood it will ever host a train again dims as time passes.

Does anyone know what type of lizard this is? We havn't seen those before so i am wondering who are they. This one is pretty friendly :)

With gratitude to Miguel de Cervantes.

I am going to double dip tonight. You get two images for the price of one. I am feeling mildly overwhelmed by the backlog of photos I have that I want to post... and I just printed another seven rolls tonight of new stuff. Sheesh. But, if you are going to do something, do it with everything you have.

My second image, as you will see in a moment will be another from Bridgetown, but I wanted to pitch in a very brief intermission first.
