Am 08. Juni 2019 war der DGS 43109 von Hannover Linden Hafen nach Verona Q.E. mit Verspätung unterwegs und lag daher bei Vierkirchen gut im Licht. Der komplett beladene KLV-Zug wurde von der Alpha Trains 193 551 befördert, die mit ihrer Gestaltung auf die zugkräftige Geschäftsbeziehung mit TXLogistik hinweist.
On June 08th 2019 freight train DGS 43109 from Hanover Linden harbour to Verona Q.E. was delayed. Therefore optimal conditions to take a picture of this train near Vierkirchen. The fully loaded intermodular train was hauled by Alpha Trains' 193 551, whose design points to the attractive business relationship with TXLogistik.
I do not have PRO status and refuse to pay a monthly charge. Therefore I have deleted a large number of my portfolio to get below the 1000 limit being imposed by Flickr from this month.
On the photo you can see the church of Schwabbruck. It is my home with a view of the Alps. I'm standing here on a hill near Schwabsoien. Fortunately, it is not yet so touristy here and you can therefore relax well.
A december day shortly before Christmas. Temperatures of +15 °C and more...it should be snow and much colder by that time. Wildlife therefore was a bit out of sight and took me a 3 miles hike until i found these rams but i was rewarded with some battle action and close up encounters. Colorado

EN: ...at least for the locomotives of type Ge 6/6 II.
In recent months, 3 out of 7 locomotives have been withdrawn from service and some of them have already been stripped of their insides. The end of this characteristic locomotive type on the RhB is within reach and unstoppable. I hope they will still survive the year 2021, but I am not quite sure.
Therefore, I took the opportunity today at the Albula to photograph the midday freight train 5140 from Samedan to Landquart. This train carries a lot of food containers, which ensures a colorful freight. As a photo position, I chose exactly the same point of view, which I have already chosen once in autumn (flic.kr/p/2k6vTjT), which shows the change of the landscape in the few months impressively.
The position is only accessible with snowshoes and a power-sapping ascent in this season, but the picture was worth the effort, wasn't it?

DE: Das Eis wird langsam dünn...mindestens mal für die Loks des Typs Ge 6/6 II.
In den letzten Monaten sind 3 von den 7 Loks abgestellt und teilweise schon ihren Innereien beraubt worden. Das Ende dieses prägenden Loktyps auf der RhB ist zum Greifen nahe und unaufhaltsam. Ich hoffe sie werden 2021 noch überleben, doch ganz sicher bin ich mir da nicht.
Deshalb nutzte ich heute die Gelegenheit am Albula den mittäglichen Güterzug 5140 von Samedan nach Landquart abzulichten. Dieser transportiert jeweils eine Menge Lebensmittelcontainer, was eine bunte Fracht quasi sicherstellt. Als Fotoposition wählte ich genau denselben Standpunkt, den ich im Herbst bereits einmal gewählt habe (flic.kr/p/2k6vTjT), was den Wandel der Landschaft in den wenigen Monaten eindrücklich aufzeigt.
Die Position ist in dieser Jahreszeit nur mit Schneeschuhen und einem kräfteraubenden Aufstieg erreichbar, doch das Bild war die Mühe wert, oder?

Af minnisvarða um DalaskáldThose two photos give no vision of the whole. Here it is on a photo taken last may on another tour. Then I got no glow in the glass and the photo is not taken to show the monument, only as a snapshot of friends.

As you can see here there are three columns of concrete in different shape, all bearing a stack of glass who showes in different way out of the columns. This little district has fostered three outstanding poets, therefore the three columns. I suppose the stack of glass plates shall represent the poems. Then we can read the symbolic into the glass at will.

"The black-tailed deer is one of nine subspecies of the mule deer. It was first recorded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-06.
Black-tailed deer live in the temperate coniferous forests along the Pacific coast. These forests are characterized by cool temperatures and lots of rain, but an overall mild climate. Black-tailed deer do not therefore migrate in response to seasonal changes, unlike some of the other mule deer subspecies. Instead, black-tailed deer often spend their entire life in the same general area.
Black-tailed deer can be distinguished from mule deer by their larger tail, the back of which is completely covered with black or dark brown hairs. Mule deer have smaller tails in which only the tip is covered with black hairs. Black-tailed deer are generally smaller than mule deer."

This sweet little native jumping spider is the smallest Maratus scutulatus I have come across. Therefore, I'm assuming a baby/juvenile. So very tiny!

Xàtiva is a city in the Spanish province of Valencia and is the birthplace of two popes. Xàtiva is the Valencian name for this city, but in Castellano this city is called 'Jativa'. This city is located in a beautiful area of hills, vineyards, orange groves and cypress trees on the northern slopes of Monte Vernissa, a two-peaked hill topped by the castle of Xativa. This castle consists of a double fortification divided between the older "Castillo Menor" small castle, built on the Iberian and Roman remains of the site, and the more recent "Castillo Mayor" main castle, built during the Middle Ages. It is located at an altitude of 310 meters above the modern city. The walls mainly date from the period during the Arab occupation. The fortress is strategically located on the ancient Via Augusta road that leads from Rome over the Pyrenees and along the Mediterranean coast to Cartagena and Cádiz. Although the town has expanded in recent years, there are still many old quarters and beautiful medieval monuments to be found. It really is such a small town that you can enjoy as a Spain lover!
One of the most beautiful towns in Spain, Xàtiva is defined by its delicious gastronomy, fascinating history and beautiful naturescapes. The Xàtiva castle is divided into two zones, the so-called Castillo Menor and Castillo Mayor. While the first is pre-Roman, Iberian and Carthaginian, the second is a Latin foundation. The importance of the Xativa Castle lies in its strategic location, being near the Via Augusta, the Roman road crossing all of Hispania Province from Cadiz via Cartagena, on the Mediterranean coast, through the Pyrenees and ending in Rome. The castle therefore had the function of monitoring and protecting the Roman road. Currently, the Castle is a site of Valencian heritage and is managed by the city of Xativa.

I am a photographic snob.
I always think my images have to be "worthy". A feeling that my images don't feel too staid and cliché.
I am, along with many others, fractionally obsessed with a derelict Lido in Cliftonville.
I was taking a few images that were probably "unworthy", segments of Grafitti, living in harmony with the coast.
A jogger runs past using the head duck to avoid ruining my
"un worthy" shot and therefore almost makes the shot "worthy".
"Fuck off back to Hackney Wick" adds some gravity to the scene. Thanks for listening.
The light goes thru a transition in a lens ..... no matter how primitive the medium. ( And .... note that "therefore" is one of many, many, more commonly used transitional phrases/words in our language !!!!)

“1928”: Collecting architectural fragments, particularly stone, from old buildings has always felt important to me. The re-purposing of these items in a way that people could connect with them was always fun. There was also an energetic component to these adventures. I believe that natural materials hold energy. Therefore, because of their interaction with humans, for sometimes hundreds of years, it felt to me that comfort and connectedness could be gained from interacting with them.

Based on some feedback and my warped sense of mind, here is my version of my Oculus capture taken on the coast of Oregon, and combining it with one of my captures there at Crater Lake (technically all happened in Oregon, therefore it stays in Oregon ..)
Took the image posted below and converted to B&W, then applied a small amount of warming tint to simulate the full moon light spilling over the scene, and then took the night sky from Crater Lake and made that into the sky through the rock openings.
Thoughts ... if someone lives out there, this could be a fun capture to try for real, but need some moonlight, stars, and low tide!!!! all to happen at the same time ... with clear skies.
Today is supposed to be about two actually irreconcilable opposites.
There is no light without shadows and without the cold of the night, we would not appreciate the warmth of the day.
We often try to suppress the unpleasant parts of life and only concentrate on the beautiful things. And then we are surprised and sometimes shocked when the “evil twin” suddenly appears in front of us. This shock can even cause us to completely lose sight of the light and have great difficulty finding it again.
What we can do, however, is to always be aware of both sides. When I love, it is an indescribably beautiful and inspiring feeling. And at the same time it makes me more vulnerable than almost anything else in life. Where there is a lot of love, there may also be a lot of pain (everyone, who has children knows what I am talking about). Should we therefore stop loving? Of course not. We just have to make sure we always have enough love for ourselves. Then we are able to deal with the pain (even if that doesn't make it any more pleasant).
I could write a book with the thoughts that fill me on this topic. For today, however, I have to leave it with this short form.
Photographically, today I'm going to turn to light first. And few of my recent photos can convey this as well as this beautiful sunny morning on the Bastei rocks in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
Der heutige Tag soll im Zeichen von zwei eigentlich unvereinbaren Gegensätzen stehen.
Licht gibt es nicht ohne Schatten und ohne die Kälte der Nacht, würden wir die Wärme des Tages nicht zu schätzen wissen.
Oft versuchen wir die unangenehmen Bestandteile des Lebens zu verdrängen und konzentrieren uns nur auf die schönen Dinge. Und dann sind wir überrascht und teilweise erschüttert, wenn der "böse Zwilling" plötzlich vor uns steht. Dieser Schock kann dann sogar dazu führen, dass wir das Licht vollständig aus den Augen verlieren und große Schwierigkeiten haben es wieder zu finden.
Was wir jedoch tun können ist, uns immer beider Seiten bewusst zu sein. Wenn ich liebe, dann ist dies ein unbeschreiblich schönes und inspirierendes Gefühl. Und gleichzeitig macht es mich so verletzlich, wie kaum etwas anderes im Leben. Wo viel Liebe ist, liegt unter Umständen auch viel Schmerz (Jeder, der Kinder hat, weiß, wovon ich spreche). Sollten wir deshalb aufhören zu lieben ? Natürlich nicht. Wir müssen nur darauf achten immer genug Liebe für uns selbst aufzubringen. Dann sind wir auch in der Lage mit dem Schmerz umzugehen (auch wenn das diesen natürlich nicht angenehmer macht).
Mit den Gedanken, die mich zu diesem Thema erfüllen könnte ich ein Buch schreiben. Für heute muss ich es allerdings mit dieser Kurzform bewenden lassen.
Fotografisch möchte ich mich heute zuerst dem Licht zuwenden. Und nur wenige meiner Fotos der letzten Zeit können dies so gut transportieren wie dieser wunderschöne sonnige Morgen auf den Basteifelsen im Elbsandsteingebirge.

So therefore in order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present. And it certainly does around on Brindley Place at night, where it's full of restaurants and bars and also, on an enviable canalside location that makes Brindleyplace one of most Birmingham’s best locations, for perfect tranquillity and relaxation.
So? - If we are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody else that it does!

Grand Central is another of the iconic location for photographing. Therefore is included in my "Postcards from New York ". This is again an image that wants to depict a city always moving while still there is something "still". I was lucky the violinist in red just decided to start playing there. I find interesting there is an empty space around her, like the music creating a safe space.

Die Distanz von meiner Kamera bis zum Plastik beträgt ungefähr 1,5 Kilometer. Der Albino-Drache ist demzufolge sehr gross und stammt von Salatfeldern.
The distance from my camera to the plastic is about 1.5 kilometers. The albino dragon is therefore very large and comes from salad fields.

This is work in progress. I am reflecting on the body as a spatial entity, the photographer's body, i.e. my own body, in particular (here represented by and measured in, Fujifilm boxes). The body interacts with the world by its sheer physicality (e.g. air displacement, foot pressure) even before our mind perceives, thinks and acts in the world. Therefore, the body already (and not just the mind) has agency. Photographically speaking, I need to reassess the "surface" of the body.
