I love the detail that they put into this action figure. Lots of textures to be seen.

I bound three little bottles together with rope, attatched the little wooden heart and added the word PEACE. Set it up on my old white chair.

This morning, I've been snuggling with my plush puppy that Stanley sent to me. His love is deeply felt! This plush puppy is soft and stretchy, I've never had a bungee tug fluffy before. Thank you so much my handsome sweetheart. I love you.

Liquidambar is a genus of 4 species of deciduous trees in the witchhazel (Hamamelidaceae) family. With a somewhat discrete distribution range, these trees are found in North and Central America, East Asia, and Turkey. These impressive trees produce some of the most spectacular autumn foliage known, and Liquidambar styraciflua, in particular, is a breathtaking sight when in full autumn colour. The genus name literally means liquid amber, and refers to the resin exuded by the winter buds. Known as storax, the resin is used in perfumery and cosmetics.

It is getting cool enough to wear a scarf now. Not for this soft fluffy one though. I bought it from the Op-shop for $1. I love the textures and tones.

This beautiful building, once a lockhouse and inn, is next to the lot where I have parked to go for a walk on the C&O Canal tow path for years. I think I was probably here first in about 1965 and I have visited regularly since I moved closer in 1978.

We found this nice seashell on the beach after the storm with kids anther day. It was just a tiny bit open but kids wanted to see what was inside so they opened it up :) it was empty, of course, but I love the curvy patterns on the inner side. While browsing through the internet I found this great poem about an open seashell.

The Sea Shell

I have hidden inside a sea shell

but forgotten in which.

Now daily I dive,

filtering the sea through my fingers,

to find myself.

Sometimes I think

a giant fish has swallowed me.

Looking for it everywhere I want to make sure

it will get me completely.

The sea-bed attracts me, and

I’m repelled by millions

of sea shells that all look alike.

Another closeup of the rya rug which hangs over my bed. As long as I have had the rug I have been fascinated by the way the appearance of colors change depending on which colors they are paired with. In this sample the red paired with its complement, green, looks darker and a tiny bit bluer to me than the red paired with orange. How does it look to your eyes?

I shot the leaves of my Japanese Maple for the last time this year last Tuesday. On Wednesday, we had storms that included tornado warnings. That pretty much cleared the leaves from the tree. Now, it is just bare branches with a few stragglers.

This is this week's entry for Texture Tuesday with Kim Klassen. Our challenge: use at least one layer of any of her textures. I used 2 layers of Aurora, first at Soft Light, 100%, then Color Burn, 65%.
