Not really a tree, this is all that remains of my Olive tree :( I forgot to protect it when winter suddenly came ! I was so happy to have a real big Olive tree and now all i have is this piece of bark.
I think it is a beautiful piece so it's NOT for the fire place !!

7 Days of Shooting – Week #40 (w/b 9 April) Begins With The Letter D
Back to the alphabet, for this week! The letter D must represent your subject … dogs, dolls, damaged, dancing you get the idea but don’t forget the donuts!!
Flickr Lounge: Textures...some rust and a touch of background texture from Topaz.
7DOS: Based on...poem -
A vine, deep rich dark green
rising up from the earth
living color against the sooted
coated rust of the bricks,
three story building, caught in shadows
of larger ones
a single string, strand of color
living green
rising up the drainpipe, old
oxidized metal
tints of aqua, or aged copper alloy
stark in contrast, to the vine
growing skyward, out of the dark
living tissue against the grayness
the unnatural state
of the parking lot, the shadows
in the center of the city
living plant, growing
hopeful

I have a lot more pastels then i knew :)
Love this scarf that belonged to my Mom, it has amazing soft pastel colours and of course memories.
The softness comes from using f/1,8

Trying something different, I know I mostly have everything in the photo but I think showing just a part of your still life makes it a stronger shot .
Would love to hear what you think of this composition, would more space around the bottles be better ?
Let me know, I'm always willing to learn.
I'm sure that in LR I could have made this look even better, I'm working on it :)
Textures used : maytime 0405 and canvasbackmagic both by Kim Klassen, thanks again Kim !
I need to make a folder of my favourite textures by you !

I wondered about this being vibrant enough, so looked up the definition of vibrant. One definition was 'pulsating with vigor and energy'. Couldn't argue with that!
Texture Tuesday - just a flower image - used 4 of Kim's textures sweet tart, charmed, deep sigh and canvas grunged. I was going to stop at the first two but I felt like it still needed something and deep sigh was just what it needed. word art is by Sue Cummings.
In Spanish, the word sombrero means any hat with a brim, such as the traditional sombrero cordobés from Cordoba, Spain. It derives from the Spanish word sombra, meaning "shade" or "shadow"; thus a literal English translation would be "shade maker".

A couple of colourful scarves I bought this winter. They brighten up my navy coat nicely.
Found this today, figured out what it was with a little bit of help from my husband and a googled version of a 1914 book. Can you guess it too?

Besides Laguna Woods Village the only residential entities in the city of Laguna Woods are an apartment building next door and The Regency, the senior living community where I live... and where I take my pictures... so you probably already have a good idea of "My Town"! I know you've seen the Courtyard before! 9-)))

Kondalilla National Park.
A beautiful rainforest walk down to Picnic Creek, the Kondalilla Falls lookout and the Rock Pools.
About 100 km north of Brisbane, near Montville, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Named after the spectacular Kondalilla Falls, where Skene Creek drops 80 m into a rainforest valley, this park is a cool mountain retreat and an important refuge for many native animals and plants.

I never expected to see the day when girls would get sunburned in the places they do now. ~Will Rogers
My 11 and 8 year old nieces spent the night with me last night and we went and got fancy manicures. The henna was already there...courtesy of Miss E's mother who was practicing for a demonstration at a local library (she paints faces, henna, etc. at events and parties) but the two-toned neon nails with added glitter is all Miss E. She thinks it looks cool...and it didn't look so bad once it was all said and done. However her dad (my brother) is probably going to kill me! ;-)
I'm so not ready for her to grow up!!!

for 7DoS: I normally avoid the biscuit isle in my supermarket - it's full of temptation! When I ran out of milk and quickly visited my local, smaller store these little balls of delight, sneakily ambushed me (O.O) I was nowhere near the biscuits or chocolate - they'd been randomly placed to catch me out!
for 7DoS: I didn't have time for a shot yesterday, so I forced myself to open up my tin of S'mores to take this textured macro shot for today.
It would be a great gift, if all my favourite sweet things were calorie free for Xmas :)
In the midst of our darkest moments there is the potential to lose all hope but hang on because one day the veil of darkness will lift and the light will come shining through to reveal a beauty that you could not have imagined.
So it is with this image, the original in the comments is awful but I knew the form of the swans was so beautiful and elegant and if I could get rid of the darkness and noise the beauty of their form would come through.
Our lives are like that, sometimes the beauty of who we truly are is so buried by the busyness, brokenness and sin of our lives that our true form is hidden, but once revealed we have so much more life to offer to those around us.
May we all be freed from those dark places that desire to keep us captive.

Happy Texture Tuesday along with a happy update on my tummy ache... it's all gone! I ate dinner last night and breakfast this morning and feel a lot better today! Thank you so much everyone for your get well wishes!!! They really helped! This was taken yesterday, when I was not feeling 100%, but still willing and able to play. Have you tried juggling oranges before?
Today's Texture Tuesday theme is the Orange eDition. I added Kim Klassen's layer of "love" and in the picture in the comments, I added her newest layer of "Crackerjack."

Amy and I had a fantabulous time exploring Newport Beach last Thursday! You've already seen some of the pictures I took that day. Here are a few more. We had lunch at IL Farro, near the Newport Beach pier. I had this extraordinary antipasto. Soooooooo good! I've learned that protein interferes with the uptake of one of the medications I take, so during the day I eat veggies, saving meat, fish, cheese, and such for the evening. This dish was a perfect delight ~ colorful, photogenic, tasty, aesthetically and physically satisfying!
Amy had gnocchi with mushrooms in a Gorgonzola sauce, which she adored. Yes, she took a picture of her dish, too. Here's the link ~ www.flickr.com/photos/amyfibre/15775291664/
What is farro? Farro (pronounced FAHR-oh) is a nutritious and delicious addition to your diet. Farro is high in fiber, low in cholesterol, and a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Farro is also low in gluten which makes farro a favorable choice for those with allergies.Farro is an ancient grain having originated in the Mediterranean and Near East. It seems to be the world’s oldest cultivated grain, from which all modern grains are derived... The Maurici Brothers, Domenico and Michele, along with Vito, the main chef, are specialized in exceptional hand-made pastas, breads, desserts, and gelatos using farro as one of the main ingredients.
