PeeGee Hydrageas in a Victorian Pitcher using Kim Klassen's "kk_dollard-softandgentle" texture.

A friend brought me this Jizo from Japan years ago, and it has been on my desk ever since.

I have read that "Jizo is the embodiment of the Bodhisattva Vow, the aspiration to save all beings from suffering. He is the protector of women, children, and travelers in the six realms of existence. In India he is known as Ksitigarbha, in China as Dizang, in Korea as Jijang Bosal, and in Japan as Jizo Bosatsu." "The aspiration to save all beings from suffering" is as good as it gets for holiday wishes.

Many thanks for every kind comment, fave, your words of encouragement, and the inspiration of your fine photography,

my Flickr friends! You make my day every day!

for 7DoS: this one is a bit of a cheat, as these trolleys aren't outside a grocery store. This well known Swedish chain does also sell food, so hopefully it's not too much of a cheat ;)

A bit of geometry and as close as I wanted to get to a dirty trolley wheel, to make up for missing the beginning of the week :)

[7DOS] - A Rainy Day - Texture Tuesday -

Texture shot of a crack in my windshield...

For: 7 Days of Shooting. Week #3. Delicate and/or Elegant - Texture Tuesday.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my photo and make a comment or Fave. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

for 7DoS: I can't remember when I first saw the bare-ankle-with-a-suit look for men, but it's spread widely since and I'm still not a fan. I guess I'm just too old to appreciate it. I find myself rolling my eyes a fair bit these days ... don't even get me started on the man-bun ;)

PS it's always a good idea to check you've taken all the sticky labels off your shoes before you wear them :)

Enjoy your weekend.

My entry for Texture Tuesday 05/21/13

for 7DoS: new spring growth hanging from the trees :)

Kim Klassen's 'Felicity' texture...

used twice; once at normal/50% opacity, once at luminosity/43% opacity.

Also added: high pass filter, soft light/50% - levels adj. layer to pop the whites - hue/sat. adj. layer to desaturate overall.

Was after a bit of vintage feel, but not sure if I like the dark corners...what do you think???

A little story about the spools is on my blog: sweetpeapath.blogspot.com/2012/02/natural-succession.html

This pony in the horse boarding pen was tossing her head up and down. The ponies all seemed to get quite agitated before competing. It seemed a wild and rather dangerous 'sport'.

and is joining the texture tuesday party at kim's café!

for 7DoS: I confess I was not feeling sad/fed up when I saw this on the dessert menu ... and I definitely wasn't after I'd eaten it ... but if I hit a grey day and need to cheer myself up I can look at this photo and smile at the memory. A bonus is, it will be calorie free that way ;)

Raining when we arrived. Fortunately it didn't rain on our Sunset cruise on "Set Sail at the yachtie"

And that's just the boots.

I ride for the worst case, so reinforced leather waterproof boots, fully lined Kevlar jeans with joint armour, and leather or armoured denim jacket.

The brembo brakes on my BMW also do their bit.

i can't really express

how much i love stones and rocks

especially with this silly pattypan from last year's garden!

these stones so still are my subject

For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday - on a Wednesday.

I couldn't think of a title this morning so I "stole" the name of one of the textures I used :) The other texture Is "Stained Linen", both from Kim Klassen.

for 7DoS: I think I have a few shots suitable for this week's theme, from my trip, but while I try and get organised, here's one I took before I left.

Well, I did manage to get a round of golf this morning when the weather wasn't at all bad! This afternoon, it poured and poured and is still pouring down!!

Remember to repair those pitch marks on the greens!!
