7 Days of Shooting – Week 1 (w/b 9th July) Biscuits: Now, this might be difficult for some of us as you might not like a biscuit or cookie covered in chocolate and all beautifully crumbly! Yippee, this week we get to eat what we shoot ~ have fun but don’t nibble too much!!

and now we have the inside of a Tim Tam

Catoctin Furnace is a favorite place for my family to take a break on drives northward. It is only about a 10 minute detour and a fascinating place to take a short walk. More about it at: www.nps.gov/cato/learn/historyculture/furnace.htm

Indispensable for tucking around presents in pretty Christmas Bags, when you don't feel like wrapping.

Fun with the macro lens.

for 7DoS: I think the homemade no cycling sign is wishful thinking ... a bit like putting Do not bend on your post ;)

I don't know this man but I recognize his birding scope.

for 7DoS: I couldn't get my old nail file to look remotely interesting, so I resorted to the little nailbrush instead

I shake the bottle of soy-milk before pouring some into my coffee - and get just a little foam for a moment.

7DoS "Coffee, Tea or What Else Do We Drink" "Texture Tuesday"

Not sure if this will really work for Texture Tuesday's theme....the theme is two. There are only two leaves in focus here, so that is what I was thinking. I used Kim Klassen's Mayzee, Chamomile, and Cracked Up Textures. Have a great Tuesday.

Today's Texture Tuesday theme for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday is Let's Celebrate! Kim Klassen's awesome texture, "The Ladder" was applied.

Counting 19 more days til Christmas... but today is already almost over!

7DoS "A Rainy Day" "Texture Tuesday"

shot for 7DOS, Texture Tuesday. Bought a set of 3 of these in varying lengths to charge my new phone. Having 3 means I can leave one in the office, one in my purse and the other in my travel bag... shot and posted a day late... Amazon purchase - best price and they deliver - who could ask for anything more?

A vintage pulley for Texture Tuesday which I applied a Kim Klassen preset and texture to.

I found this whiskey bottle when renovating my 100 year old house, including the old nail. I like its grunginess. I used textures: Silence and Sweetart by Kim Klassen

(based on original art 'Do Stay VIII - Eye of a Tiger' by Norbert Gramer)

for 7DoS: a tiny part of a van Gogh. Close up it looks pretty messy - though way more appealing than the mess I make ;)

for 7DoS: it's that textured wall again ;)

For Texture Tuesday - Used Kim Klassen's "Felicity" texture.

In Portugal, tradition called for people to leave their shoes by the chimney during the night (if you don't have a fireplace, the kitchen will do). In the morning, children wake up early and run to the chimney to see what they got from Father Christmas.

I'm doing much better again! Thank you so much for your emails and well wishes. Your warmth and love enters our home, our hearts, and makes us tear, in a very good sentimental way. We are touched by you.

I visited my vet on Monday and she does not conclude that I'm allergic to either of my medications, Tramadol and Baytril. She says I have a contact allergy on my skin. What caused it through contact is a very big mystery. The only thing different and new is that a mouse is still in our house since the night before my surgery. (Maybe tonight it will enter the mouse-house!) Otherwise, there is no infection inside either ear, thankfully. Only the outer skin of my ears is irritated pink by an angry rash, as the vet called it. The problem should clear in a few more days with the help of an ointment, and the vet will examine my ears again when I get my 24 metal staple stitches removed in one more week.

Here I was on Monday, resting in bed, and missing my numerous long walks and playmates. But sleep heals, so sleep it is.

Goodnight friends,

Love,

Vivi

For Texture Tuesday. Thank you Kim Klassen for this extremely beautiful new texture "Shades of November."

I visited friends in Wiltshire. During the day we went to a village show which was great fun as it is so different from my usual activities. Disappointing for this rider that his horse clipped one of the poles in the show-jumping competition & left it at an angle - but useful for my photo themes!

TMSH "don't do it" - but the horse did!

MSH "lopsided"

From my archives for 7DOS texture - horse & rider both with "headgear", & contrasting textures of the jump, trees etc.
