I had the opportunity to visit a number of thrones in the last two days.
It could be a touchy subject, but I know you all want to know but were afraid to ask. For some of you, the throne may not be known as an alternative slang word, so just in case, you will get the idea.
This photo shows a simple throne from King Williams Hampton Court Palace where he would have received visiting dignitaries. The room is lavishly decorated to impress. Make no mistake, first impressions were everything in those days.
Below, you can see the "other" throne in the castle, and what a comfort zone it seems to be. Notice the lock on the lid, no doubt to ensure that the seat isn't kept warm by the non-deserving.
Apparently this palace has a basic channeling system under the main forecourt which ended up in the river.
If you think that isn't appropriate for a king, then look lower down and see one of the thrones from the Tower of London. What a cold hole that would be in more ways than one.
The chamber is just off the main room via a short zig-zag and the throne emptied through an angled hole in the castle wall to the ground a few stories below, and this area had a name which I can't remember, but it described the nogo area clearly.
Nice and simple for today ~ scissors and string!

These Fishbone Ferns grow wild along the bike track among the mulch of fallen leaves and twigs. They are native to tropical areas in Northern Australia but have become acclimatised in this area. They are quite invasive and considered by many to be a weed.
Is cold a texture? No but smooth is... life doesn't get sweeter than a cold beer on a hot day... it's been a while since I got one of them. So it's another one from the archive for the 7DOS I'm afraid. So many photos I still haven't posted on flickr...

Days of Shooting – Week 6 (w/b 13th August) In The Garden
Hopefully, we all get some lovely warm weather for our theme of this week! We can show off the flowers, plants, trees and whatever else is growing in the garden and all those lovely garden decorations and wherever! If it is in the garden we want to see it!!
This is a low railway bridge that basically is too low that it only allows cars and pedestrians to go to and fro underneath. However, as evidenced there are far too many "truck and or lorry" drivers who obviously can't read or don't know the height of the load they are carrying!!

Days of Shooting – Week 7 (w/b 20th August) Vibrant
A week of flamboyant colours, bright and dazzling! The subject is one of your choice as long as its colour or colours are bright and electrifying. You might consider something that is full of energy and life … so, if it’s got lots of vibrancy, show it off!
For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday...
Tried a little something different this time ~ shot the image with my DSLR camera, but then loaded it onto my phone where I ran it through one of my apps (FX Studio). Then, took it into PSE and added Kim's watercolor texture, 'oh my'...that's it!

for 7DoS: my computer has been rebuilt and is back online. Sadly, I can't seem to upload photos onto flickr yet so clearly some settings have to be looked at :(
Meanwhile, here's another phone shot from my beach walk. This is part of the bucket (I think that's what they are called?) a tractor was using to shift some of the sand around. I fear the sea is winning the battle at this point and there was an air of King Canute about the operation. The dunes have been expanded/ reinforced, so we will see if the tide can be held back.

7 Days of Shooting – Week #36 (w/b 12 March) Wheels - round and round they go! Wheels are everywhere ~ cars, buses, bicycles, motorbikes, trains! Real wheels or wheels on toys wheels on machinery or that fun ferris wheel in the park. We’ll all be singing Tina Turner’s Proud Mary this week … big wheels keep on turning!
I thought I'd this to the 7DOS Texture Tuesday... they don't come any more iconic than Leica for a photography group... well... maybe they do but I love the texture of my wee leather Leica camera case... taken many years ago now but it still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling :D
It's a pineapple and this will soon be cut up for part of tomorrow's breakfast .... fruit and yoghurt, every morning!!
