We were fortunte to fly the Delta Shuttle from Chicago to the Marine Air Terminal and back.

The Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport is the only active airport terminal dating from the first generation of passenger travel in the United States. Originally built to handle seaplanes, the Art Deco building was designed in 1939 by William Delano of the firm Delano & Aldrich.

Since 1985, the terminal has been used primarily for shuttle services between New York and Boston and Washington D.C. In 1985, Pan American World Airways began the Pan Am Shuttle service between New York and Boston from the terminal while its competitor, the Eastern Shuttle, operated from the major terminal. Delta Air Lines acquired the service from Pan Am in 1991 and continues to use the terminal for operating the Delta Shuttle. It has added a Chicago shuttle (formerly to Midway, now O’Hare) and discontinued the Boston route.

Philippine Rabbit Station

Formerly the Philippine Rabbit Station in Baguio, this place is now better known as the Philippine Rabbit Sinkhole because of the huge crater created when this area sunk during one of the supertyphoons of the 80's.

I still remember when the hole was being refilled, women workers were hired to the the riprapping.

This area now serves as a jeepney terminal for La Trinidad bound jeepneys, also, several bar and restaurants have opened up on the buildings along it's perimeter.

The cruise terminal in Naples with an apartment building parked alongside. (MSC Splendida - 137,000 tons 3970 passengers)

The impressive Maritime Station complex is located in the center of Naples, between land and sea. This is where Terminal Napoli has been operating since it was opened, with a business that is undoubtedly linked to the physical structure in which it operates, and to the projects of transformation that it has promoted.

As a matter of fact, Terminal Napoli is the company that manages the cruise terminal in Naples’ port (cruise ships dock at the Maritime Station, where large transatlantic liners used to dock). Starting with its natural business operations, it has provided an example of how the public can enjoy and benefit from a sea station…now through the recent construction of a convention center, Expo Napoli, and a shopping mall.

Terminal Napoli has become the point of reference in the cruise line sector, among others. In fact, people refer to the “Naples model” because Terminal Napoli is the first real example of a company where supply and demand meet (its mixed structure also includes cruise lines).

Terminal Napoli is, therefore, a multifunctional company, just like the structure in which it operates.

Construction of Cincinnati Union Terminal began in 1931, and was completed when the station officially opened on March 31, 1933. During its heyday, the station was used by seven railroads: Baltimore & Ohio; Chesapeake & Ohio; New York Central ("Big Four"); Lousiville & Nashville; Norfolk & Western; Pennsylvania Railroad; and the Southern Railway. Amtrak abandoned service to the station in 1972, but returned in 1991 after CUT was renovated and became the Cincinnati Museum Center.

Terminal 2 at Ontario International Airport.

The Terminal Tower in Cleveland Ohio is 771 feet tall. Construction started in 1926 and ended on 1930. It was the second tallest building in the world when built. It stood the tallest building in North America outside of New York until 1964. The model itself was quite a challenge to design. I created the technique of using the hero factory part to try and keep the tower stable. Overall I feel like the integration of the angles look pretty good.

The Central Terminal train station was opened in 1929 and closed in 1979. Time and vandals have taken a toll on this magnificent structure. Ther is a group in Buffalo trying to restore the terminal and facility once used for the Robert Redfor movie "The Natural."
