(51 fotografos na campanha "AJUDE a Abraçar com o seu OLHAR)
TEXTO DO ERNANIB:
Ajude!!! Divulge!!! Dê corda nesses pequenos relógios de vida.

There is a time for planting and a time for harvesting. We are all in a hurry to live, not to die.We have time for internet, for friends, for playing, for working and we never have time to stop and help others. We have time for watching TV, reading the papers or a good book but we never have time for reading a message asking for help.
But there are the ones who don’t have any more time to lose. The ones who didn’t have time to plant. That barely have time to play. That won’t have time to say “I love you, mom, dad”. Because someone, somewhere didn’t have time to read this message, to try to know what it means, to try to know how to help. Because many times who could help don’t have the time, because it’s not an investment with short term interest or because thinks its time is too valuable to spend with somenone who doesn’t have that much time.
Stop for a moment.Try to read and get informed. The children that are about to say their goodbyes to life will be thankful for these few moments you took to help them.. Don’t let their life clocks stop just because you didn’t want to waste your time. Help them! Spread the word! Wind up these little life clocks
Volunteer Colombia Cartagena Review Ciara Sheerin at the woman support and children care program.
"My month in Colombia was absolutely amazing. I loved everything about the program and didn't have a single issue. The only part that I found difficult was dealing with the heat! My absolutely favorite weekend trip was to Tayrona National Park. It sounds crazy to go hiking by yourself and then sleep in a hammock surrounded by strangers but I have never seen such a beautiful environment in my life. The experience was breathtaking and is a must! I fell in love with all that Cartagena had to offer. The women at the program, my host family, and the support staff were amazing. Also, the Spanish immersion (lessons) piece was excellent. I am so happy I chose to do it because the amount of time I received in private lessons would be worth $1000s in the US and I felt like it really improved my Spanish. Plus my Spanish teacher was an additional source of support during the program. Overall, my experience was extremely valuable."
This photo documents a part of a series of stencils I created about supporting local businesses in Milwaukee. The stencil is of a piggybank with money going into it. The piggybank is surrounded by the Milwaukee skyline. Below, text simply reads "Support Local Businesses".
The stencils were made with mud stenciling. Mud stenciling is using mud to create a stencil to display a message to the public without the use of toxins or damaging property.

Many volunteers stay with the race the whole 72 hours, getting slightly more sleep than the racers who might get 2.5 hours of sleep in the three days.

Women's Support Center in Yerevan was initiated in 2010 by the Tufenkian Foundation in order to assist the victims of domestic violence. Milena’s responsibilities include consultation and trainings with WSC staff regarding group therapy methods and materials, reviewing methodology and guidelines for social workers, as well as developing PR material for the Center.
Osh Johnson, seen here making traditional Diné (Navajo) fry bread, is a good example of how this Indigenous peoples' movement grew: through banding together in support of the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota people whose land the Oceti Sakowin Camp sits atop and who's youth and water everyone is focused on protecting.
Thanks to European Union support - FAO is regenerating livestock production to strengthen resilience of vulnerable populations in Borno State
The current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is a crisis within a crisis in Borno State, Northeastern Nigeria. The state was already undergoing a staggered recovery on account of to a decade-long insurgency that has resulted in food shortages, imperilled livelihoods and exacerbated poverty. Now faced with the pandemic, conflict-affected persons in the state will be at greater risk if recovery efforts are not sustained and increased.
As part of its emergency response, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched its 2020 livestock restocking campaign. This campaign is part of a comprehensive initiative funded by the European Union Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF) jointly implemented by FAO, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the World Food Programme (WFP). It is envisaged that the intervention will empower beneficiaries by enabling them to reestablish their productive asset base through the replenishment of lost livestock.
On Wednesday 15 May 2024, about 300 SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) students and their supporters gathered in front of the "Liberated Zone" Gaza solidarity encampment. An area of activists tents within the university grounds.
The event was called to mark Nakba day which commemorates the brutal ethnic cleansing and expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and villages in the months after 15 May 1948 by the Israeli army and Zionist militia. Although historians point out that the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their land long predated 15 May 1948, and has continued ever since.
A crowd listened to a number of speeches both by supporters as well as students outlining their demands on the university and their determination to "not give up and not to stop" until SOAS had disclosed its investment in corporations complicit both in Israel's occupation of the West Bank and its war on Gaza.
A final speech was given in which an activist explained that students and their supporters needed to "escalate until our demands are met" and added "we are going to show London we are going to continue (activism and protest) until our demands are met."
One of the most frequently heard chants on this and other days has been
"Disclose, Divest,
We will not stop,
We will not rest."
The students marched from SOAS to the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street where at sometime around 7.30 pm they held a die-in preventing all but emergency traffic from crossing the junction. I didn't time the length of the action, but it seemed to last for about 30 minutes.
The students' demands, as written on a two metre high placard at the encampment, were as follows
1. Disclose - Full details of all university investments
2. Divest - from companies complicit in Israel's denial of Palestinian rights - [a list of specific companies followed which included Barclays Bank, Alphabet (Google/Alphabet) and Microsoft.]
3. Terminate - the university's banking and lending arrangement with Barclays
4. Boycott - Israeli academic institutions which are complicit in the violation of Palestinian human rights, including the University of Haifa
5. Commit - to supporting Palestinian education and the rebuilding of Gaza's Schools and Hospitals. Establish partnerships and exchanges with Palestinian institutions and academics. Increase scholarships for Palestinian students. Advocate for removal of restrictions for pro-Palestinian expression.
6. Guarantee - the right of students and staff to express solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for liberation including in research, speech and actions.
6. Advocate - for the UK government to implement an arms embargo on Israel, to call for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire.

'The Recovery! hail from sunny Glasgow. They've supported our mates Cancer Bats and played a live session on Radio 1. Their new single is out on November 12, or if you don't fancy waiting, hit 'em up on Facebook and Twitter for free tunes.
-Front Magazine Issue 173, September 2012.
'Borrowing some mighty groove and swagger from across the Atlantic like Every Time I Die, these Scottish lads are here to pummel you senseless with their deranged party hardcore. With debut EP 'Wherever Nowhere Takes Us' out in February, they'll be fuelling unhinged parties outside of sunny Glasgow soon. And you know what? It sounds like a party we really want an invite to.'
- AMR (Rock Sound Magazine Feb 2013).
'Twisted and jagged, all five tracks here snap and snarl viciously, the level of reckless aggression constantly maintained while they practically trip over piles of seductive hooks. From the mean-as-hell Krokodil to Sick... & Tired and the anti-anthem My Name Is Bad News they impress at every turn. In making an EP that sounds like Challenging everyone in the pub to a fight at once, The Recovery! have made a fine start here.'
