Taken while on a work lunch break in Croydon. Only had my mobile with me when I took this. Shot in manual pro mode but I'd inadvertently turned the RAW setting off so the image isn't as crisp as I would've liked.
Lots of shapes to be seen here, from the shapes created by the building support struts, the paving slabs of the pavement, tiles on the under croft and the windows on the buildings in the distance. The more you look the more shapes you see.
This is the under croft of the Pinnacle Apartments building in Croydon South London.
We all need some of that...

Nearly stalling, G&E Shifter R202 crawls across the timber supports of the WV Hwy 20 girder bridge at walking speed, fighting the steep 2.2% grade from Peaser Jct to Quinwood Tunnel.
The seasoned C&O crew sure put this pair of “lightning bolts” through their paces getting their second cut of 28 loads from Green Valley up the mountain on the rusted, worn out jointed rail of the former Hominy Creek sub of the NF&G. What a show!
Access to the Supreme Court building is free to the public. We visited when the Court was not in session so we were able to hear a 30 minute courtroom lecture given by a very nice docent. The lecture was extremely informative as it includes the history and function of the highest court in the land. The lecture takes place in the room where the Supreme Court hears cases. You are not allowed to take photos in this room. You will have to take in the grandeur of the beautiful columns, ceiling, and sculpted marble panels and commit these to memory.
There are so many architectural treasures inside and outside the building. One of the most awe inspiring are the two identical self-supporting elliptical spiral staircases. Visitors should make a point to stop and check them out.

Thunbergia battiscombei is a weak-stemmed, perennial shrub rather than a climbing vine. To grow upright, it must be tied to a support or have taller plants to lean on for support. Blue Glory has bright green heart-shaped leaves, fuzzy greenish-white buds, and dark blue to purple trumpet-shaped flowers.

The most respected psychiatrists and sociologists in the world agree on one thing: Trump and Putin are two psychopaths who care nothing about the lives of human beings.
All our love, solidarity and support for the heroic Ukrainian people

In support of Spirit Day, Paarse Vrijdag, or just Paars as it is called in my country.
Spirit Day is a means of speaking out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities. Pledging to "go purple" on Spirit Day is a way for everyone — forward-thinking companies, global leaders, respected celebrities, neighbors, parents, classmates, and friends — to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.

I was playing my 12 string the other day and became aware that I have never taken a photograph of it. So then, it became a question of what to focus on. As is my tendency, I looked closely, and wondered what it would look like to make a closeup of the headstock and tuning machines. To get this level of depth of field, I had to combine 41 photographs in Helicon Focus to get it all in focus. I used the 200mm macro lens to compress the scene and make the tuning machines all fit without a lot of other stuff entering the picture, which the 105mm would not do. It’s an Ovation 12 string, BTW. It has a lovely sound. I’m looking forward to being able to play with others again some day.
