Le Jaguarondi : En raison de sa ressemblance avec les mustélidés, ce petit félin est aussi nommé " chat-loutre " ou " chat-belette ". Le jaguarondi est le deuxième plus grand chat sauvage d'Amérique du Sud après l'ocelot. Compagnon de l'homme depuis des siècles, le jaguarondi était autrefois domestiqué par certains peuples d'Amérique du Sud. Il est toujours facilement apprivoisable et supporte plutôt bien la captivité. Mal connu du public, le jaguarondi reste pourtant rare dans les parcs zoologiques.

During our short holiday in England we visited the Forest of Bowland for 2 days. We passed by a lot of fields with sheep. We enjoyed this wunderful moorland during our walking and driving through the area. Somewhere alongside Spen Brow, Fairheath Road or Lowgill Lane. Forest of Bowland, 2023.

It represents all those who lost their lives on active service, from the beginning of the First World War right up to present day.
During the First World War previously beautiful countryside was blasted, bombed and fought over, again and again. The landscape turned to fields of mud where little or nothing could grow.
But out of the devastation the delicate but resilient bright red Flanders poppies grew and flourished in their thousands.

My second Turkish A400M and an amaazing weather for this one!! It came as Erdogan's support during his visit in Paris for the Centenary of the end of World War 1. What a nice catch!
The remote Gallan Head on the west coast of Lewis has a unique atmosphere and is home to a community project, following the departure of the RAF a number of years ago and the opening up of the peninsula. From the website: "Gallan Head is a high promontory on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles of Scotland, and is the most North-Westerly point of Britain.
It is a piece of land of strange beauty and a powerful spiritual energy, with fantastic views of historical islands and landscape features in a great sweeping arc around it. From its highest point there is a 360 degree view of all the surrounding sea, wildlife, islands and land, and at night – dark, unpolluted skies afford vast astronomical potential.
It is here that we hope, in a few years, to open an observatory, for both wildlife and sea watching and the many phenomena of the heavens, housed in a specially designed building which will add to, rather than detract from the natural landscape. This will be known at the Cetus Project – listening to whales in the sea and watching the constellation Cetus in the night sky. This project has the enthusiastic support of the Stornoway Astronomical Society and John Brown, the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, who has become patron of the project."

I was playing my 12 string the other day and became aware that I have never taken a photograph of it. So then, it became a question of what to focus on. As is my tendency, I looked closely, and wondered what it would look like to make a closeup of the headstock and tuning machines. To get this level of depth of field, I had to combine 41 photographs in Helicon Focus to get it all in focus. I used the 200mm macro lens to compress the scene and make the tuning machines all fit without a lot of other stuff entering the picture, which the 105mm would not do. It’s an Ovation 12 string, BTW. It has a lovely sound. I’m looking forward to being able to play with others again some day.
An observation while riding down the highway, a quick click of the shutter from the passenger seat and I ended up with this beautiful reminder that maybe it's ok to need and accept support.
