Los Alamos National Labs hosts a yearly HAZMAT Challenge. Teams from across the nation converge in Los Alamos, N.M. to practice technical skills, learn new techniques all under realistic conditions in a controlled environment. The Soldiers and Airmen of New Mexico National Guard's 64th Civil Support Team Survey Section have participated for a number of years.
According to www.lanl.gov/hazmat-challenge/ website, "The HAZMAT Challenge is an event where you can have fun and forget you are learning at the same time."

Members from the Delaware National Guard assisted a multi-state, multi-agency mission to transport critically needed ventilators to states that requested them. A C-130J from the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard delivered 150 ventilators to the 166th Airlift Wing for distribution in Delaware, Washington D.C. and Maryland to support ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
SANDY — The 85th Civil Support Team assisted local authorities monitor air quality due to a fire Monday morning at Fur Breeders Agricultural Cooperative, 8550 S. and 700 West.
The building contained ammonia and other chemicals, forcing authorities to evacuate nearby residents and block access to nearby roads.
The 85th CST, comprised of both Army and Air Force personnel, monitored the area for unsafe levels of ammonia and other chemical as the firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
