13 May 2012, Enjil District, Herat, Afghanistan : A young village boy studies his Koran during informal school classes at the Hous Karbas Community Development Council (CDC) community hall built using funds from the National Solidarity Program (NSP). The village CDC focused the funding they receive on the building of a community hall and developing handicrafts. The NSP is the Governments national flagship program to support small scale reconstruction and development activities identified by CDC's across the country.About 80% of community sub projects involve infrastructure such as irrigation, roads and electricity all critical for the recovery of the rural economy and governance.The ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development is implementing the program. North Dakota National Guard’s Staff Sgt. Mark Stenberg presents his son a family award in appreciation of his support during his recent overseas deployment. Stenberg is a member of the 231st Brigade Support Battalion Logistical Support Element who were honored at a Freedom Salute ceremony on Sept. 27, 2015 in Fargo, North Dakota. Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen provide weather forecasting and aviation support Feb. 21 for Global Guardian 2012, a joint Army and Air Force exercise held at the Georgia National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center in Savannah. More than 1,300 personnel from 20 different states including flying units, medical units and support units as well as members of the Royal Netherland Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force participated in the exercise that began Feb. 13 and concludes Feb. 24. Units from the active and reserve Air Force and Army as well as Army and Air National Guard took part in the exercise designed to prepare units to deploy, conduct direct and indirect combat operations and redeploy safely to home base. Airmen from the Sandston-based 200th Weather Flight provided weather forecasting support and Soldiers from the Sandston-based Detachment 1, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 151st Aviation Regiment provided aviation support with Lakota helicopters for reconnaissance, VIP and troop transport and casualty evacuation training. To support government’s initiative to improve its national social protection system, the Ministry of Manpower in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) is conducting a joint National Conference titled “International Experiences of Protection against Unemployment and Its Relevance for Indonesia” today (3/3) in Jakarta.
This National Conference aims to provide technical advice and further assistance on the development of unemployment insurance in the country by presenting experts on unemployment benefits from five Asian countries.
The event is conducted by the ILO through its Unemployment in Indonesia: Quality Assistance for Workers Affected by Labour Adjustment (UNIQLO) Project. Funded by the parent company of UNIQLO, Fast Retailing Co., Ltd, the Project facilitates tripartite dialogues and provide technical assistance to formulate an effective and comprehensive unemployment benefit scheme as a part of social protection system. The Project will run for two years until 2021.
It was standing room only in the Harding Middle School gym on Friday night as the school sponsored a Zumbathon in support of Des Moines' immigrant community. Organized by ELL teachers at Harding, the event used the Colombian-originated dance/fitness program to raise funds for organizations that provide legal assistance for immigrant students and families.

The Airpower Foundation, along with American Airlines, Envoy, The Gary Sinise Foundation, and Disney, was proud to help support an amazing trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando for a special group of service members and their families.
Families were flown on a donated American Eagle aircraft provided by Envoy, with an all volunteer flight crew, to Orlando from Washington D.C. This trip was also a much needed escape from the hospital, and an opportunity to spend quality family time together at the happiest place on earth! Unfortunately, each of the service members on the trip with their families are currently at Walter Reed / Bethesda Medical Center, and are battling terminal cancer.
Providing them with the ultimate Disney experience anyone could possibly have, the resort rolled out the red carpet, and gave them a vacation they will never forget. Each family had a private escort, and even a private cart to take them around all the theme parks in record time! And those long lines for the rides... Not for our families! They were escorted to the front of each line, and were able to immediately board any ride or attraction they wanted! They were truly treated like royalty, and created many special memories together. The Airpower Foundation is honored to have helped make this special trip possible for them. Also much thanks to Walt Disney World for all they did to make this trip so spectacular for these families!

Grammy award winning singer songwriter Sting is to lend his support to the Hear the World initiative, a global hearing loss campaign that helps raise awareness about the importance of hearing and the consequences of hearing loss.
Sting joins a host of other celebrity ambassadors including Jude Law, Elle Macpherson, Annie Lennox, Jerry Hall and Peter Gabriel. Each supporter has been photographed by musician and photographer Bryan Adams holding the Hear the World pose - with one hand cupped behind their ear to convey conscious hearing.
Over 800 million people worldwide, more than 16 percent of the world's population, have hearing loss and experts predict this will to increase to 1.1 billion by 2015. In the UK an estimated 8.5 million people have hearing loss and struggle for up to 15 years before seeking advice. Studies have shown that this has a significantly negative effect on a person's social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Hear the World, which was set up in 2006 by leading hearing systems manufacturer Phonak, aims to call attention to the importance of taking care of your hearing, to prevent hearing loss in later life, as well as the social and emotional impact of hearing loss and the solutions available for those who suffer.
"Our hearing is not only integral to how we communicate but also how we experience the world around us." Sting commented "It's a fact that we gain more information from hearing than seeing. I would have liked to had more chances to play with this film. It may curl like I never seen before and it catches a lot dust while drying but it also has nice grain a great tonality and a wonderful old school look.

A neighbor recently gave birth, so I brought her dinner and wanted to include something sweet. I devoured these homemade chocolate chip lactation cookies after I had my son, so they were a perfect fit. They're just regular chocolate chip cookies made a bit more nutritious with whole wheat flour, flax seed, nutritional yeast, dark chocolate, and walnuts. They're supposed to aid in milk supply for breastfeeding (which didn't stop my family from devouring them too!).
The truss structure shown in "Truss under Construction" weighs 7000t. The supports which are going to hold it are broader than the others.
