After a recent jaunt out across the Niagara Peninsula we were returning home and as we passed through Wainfleet, Ontario, I decided I would like to stop and see what I could photography there. I have passed through Wainfleet many times over the years and it was always one of those places I was going to come back to and photography, ‘some day’. It was ‘some day’. One building in particular caught my eye. On the main street (which happens to be the highway North-South-ish) stands an old barn-like building that had once been a store, apparently a hardware, or possibly farm supply, store. Now derelict, the building had interesting textures as well as some random junk abandoned on its porch. Ideal subject matter for a few photos. - JW

Tech Details:
Taken using a tripod-mounted Nikon D800 fitted with an AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm 1:4.0 lense set to 31mm, ISO100, Daylight WB, Matrix metering, Aperture Priority mode, f/8.0, 1/50 sec with an EV+0.67 exposure bias. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image size to be 8000px wide, apply Tone Mapping at default settings, use the Graduated Neutral Density/GND tool to darken the bottom of the frame and better balance its tonality with the top, increase contrast and Chromaticity in L-A-B mode, use the Shadows/Highlights tool to recover both highlight and shadow detail, boost Vibrance, sharpen (edges only), save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: use the Hue-Saturation-Brightness tool to slightly slightly boost the red-channel-only to bring out the red-painted siding, boost contrast slightly, sharpen, save, scale to 6000px wide, sharpen, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 3000 px wide for posting online, sharpen very slightly, save.
A 44-foot wall of water suddenly gushed down the Blanco River waterway on Memorial Day weekend 2015 from extreme flooding upstream. washing the road, bridge and unaware drivers downstream. killing more than a dozen people. Some from washed away houses and cars were never found.
Southern Blanco County received a record 10 to 13 inches of rainfall in a 4- to 6-hour period that weekend.
Last saturday I was waiting since 7:30 am for the first France Apple Store. I took this picture just 2 minutes before enter into it.

This is my seventh modular building, designed & built in summer 2020. It has around 5500 pieces, and features three businesses: Bakery and Toy Store occupy the ground floor, the second floor is taken up by Benny's Robot & Droid Repair Shop. The top two floors contain one spacious apartment.

A 2014 photo of Boscov's in Wilkes-Barre, Pa, one of the last downtown department stores in the country. Originally Fowler, Dick and Walker's Boston Store, Boscov's acquired the store in 1980 and it became a renewed hub for the struggling downtown. As a tribute to the former store, they allowed "The Boston Store Since 1879" part of the facade sign to remain. Mr. Boscov also spearheaded renovation of the nearby former Paramont Theater into the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, another drawing card for the area.
The neighboring Barnes & Noble was a Woolworth's store.

There is a large collection of items on display that sold at the store. The store has been restored as a typical store of the 1770s, when it was operated by John and Samuel Cumminger, members of a prominent family in history.
There is also a Ambrotype Photography Studio on the upper level.

I thought it was very interesting.
