We came across this awesome store from the 1800's... it had a mannequin window and everything. It has been turned into a house since, but it was still quite interesting to look at....

ᴄᴀɴ ʏᴏᴜ sᴇᴇ ᴍᴇ ʟᴏɴɢɪɴɢ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ, ғᴏʀᴇᴠᴇʀ?
Typically, when I post a photo, it’s my own work, and the only description is the lyrics of a song that sparked the idea in my mind. But this picture is different. This was taken by Ari Gunner, who, without hesitation or expectation, offered to help me with my first store simply because she wanted to see me succeed. That simple act of kindness perfectly sums up who Ari was—not just in that moment, but in every moment I was lucky enough to share with her.
She wasn’t just a friend; she was the closest thing I ever had to a mother, both in SL and RL. She was there for me in ways that no one else was, without question, without obligation—just pure, unwavering support. She took care of me when she didn’t have to, when the world felt heavy, and when I felt alone.
I will carry her kindness, her love, and her generosity with me for the rest of my life. She gave so much and asked for nothing in return. That is the kind of love that never fades, and I will never forget her.

Piccadilly Arcade runs between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street in the City of Westminster. It was opened in 1909, having been designed by Thrale Jell, and is a Grade II listed building.
The arcade is composed of twenty-eight shops on the ground floor.
A bronze statue of Beau Brummell stands at the Jermyn Street end of the arcade, designed by Irena Sidiecka.

The Completed 300 Piece jigsaw puzzle "General Store," artwork by Kevin Walsh and manufactured by Bits & Pieces.
This is the flagship store of Pizitz, a department store chain in Alabama. At its peak Pizitz operated 12 other chains, mostly in the Birmingham area with some stores in Huntsville and other Alabama cities.
It was founded as the Louis Pizitz Dry Goods Co. in 1899 on this site downtown. The company was sold to McRae's in 1986.

This adorable dog is Bear, age 8 1/2 months. Bear works at the Ace Hardware in Harvey, outside Marquette.
Once upon a time, it was the country store clerk who fulfilled customer orders, e.g., eggs, flour, and soap. The customer would give the store clerk a list of what commodities they wanted. Those were the days before the retailing and branding revolution that was brought on by Piggly Wiggly franchised supermarkets and the new-fangled ilk that followed. In these new 20th-century stores, retailers had to bedazzle shoppers with eye-catching packaging since consumers began to do the shopping work for themselves by walking through big stores designed with shopping aisles filled with shelves and shelves of competing products. That branding and shopping revolution eventually came back to country stores.
Nowadays, we have online virtual aisles and artificial intelligence to assist.

On this, my second visit to Trevaylor Woods (Penzance), the light wasn't quite as nice as my first visit - devoid of any mist and more overcast / darker. But... I came away with this (while, crossing my fingers for better, "magical," conditions for future visits).
While wandering the woods I spotted these foreground moss-covered boulders (that looked like "rock trolls" to me!) basking in some diffused light. I then looked for a distant focal point - and used the gnarly tree, which stood out amongst the greenery.

An industry served by the D&RGW via the Provo Canyon Branch was the Wasatch Coal & Lumber Yard, located at No. 493 West and 1st North in Heber City, Utah. This store front was still standing on June 21, 1986 but sadly has been dismantled since that time.
On a sunny Christmas day
Rise Church in the village Store Rise on Ærø is originally a Romanesque church from the late 12th century. Since then it has been provided with vaults and extended in 2 rounds - the latest in 1697 (hence the writing on the wall) - to be able to accommodate the ever-growing population.
Former Zodys Department Store that closed in 1980's and subdivided. This site was taken over by Albertsons and operated under the name of Grocery Warehouse and later Max Foods. Albertsons had originally operated a store in this same shopping center until it moved next door into the Zodys building. The former Albertsons is now a Office Depot. In 1999, Albertsons took over Lucky Supermarkets, which had a store across the street. The Lucky became an Albertsons and operated until November 21,2007. These photos were taken on November 14,2007 at around 6 am, about two hours prior to the grand opening of the new store. One of xx photos of this center.
Former site of Gemco Department Store, this former department store, which included a supermarket and pharmacy under the Gemco banner was located in Huntington Beach California at 7212 Edinger and Goldenwest was subdivided into different retail stores. The Gemco chain was split up, sold off piece meal with several sites kept by Lucky Supermarket in 1986. This site was converted after 1986, when Lucky Supermarkets, owner of Gemco Department Stores decided to close down this chain. The main portion of the former Gemco was converted to a Lucky Supermarket with a Lucky Pharmacy. When Lucky Supermarkets took over the Savon Drug Store Chain, they converted their pharmacies into Savon Pharmacies. Another section of this former department store was converted into a Toys R Us Toy Store. When Albertsons took over Lucky Supermarkets in 1999, they converted this Lucky Savon Supermarket into an Albertsons Savon Supermaket. The lease now has expired, Albertsons decided not to renew it per staff, and this Albertsons is now closed as of October 11, 2007. Photo of the signless closed store. One of xx photos of this site.
In one of the store rooms under Tretower Court. Tretower Court is a medieval fortified manor house situated in the village of Tretower, near Crickhowell in modern day Powys, previously within the historical county of Breconshire.
This could have been used to store any number of items

This building was built in 1879 and was owned by Harvey Boone
(incidentally, a direct descendent of Daniel Boone!).
Of the many items still in the store are several original Edison light bulbs that have been continuously burning for several years. In the upper right of photograph you can see a bulb dimly burning.
