Now something completely different...
The grocery store where we shop has a beautiful, raised atrium roof which lets a lot of natural light into the store, making the shopping experience more pleasant.
The other day I realized it would make for an interesting photograph, so I took a couple of minutes to take a few shots with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The blue sky and white clouds can be seen through glass windows on the periphery of the 14-segmented roof structure.
It is located in the center of the store and is probably 40 feet above one's head.

Although the good old fashioned general store is fast disappearing from many small country towns, I believe this one is still going strong. This is the Georgetown General store which dates back to 1912, and is in South Australia's mid north in a rich farming area. It is a small town with a population of less than 200, but services a large rural area. It is one of those wonderful old stores that you could get everything and anything in and serves as the town's post office.

This is the only structure remaining of Butte City, prosperous mining town of the 1850s. As early as 1854 Xavier Benoist was conducting a store and bakery in this building. Later Ginocchio had a merchandise business here.

RUST General Store is an 1860s inspired general store located within the Old Town San Diego, State Historic Park. The products are meant to reflect the history and culture of people living in, and the places trading with San Diego during the American/Transitional time period from 1846-1872.
San Diego old town is the historic heart of San Diego.
Created in 1769, Old Town San Diego marks the site of the first Spanish settlement on the U.S. West Coast and features 12 acres of Mexican heritage and historical sites, colorful shops, early-California-style restaurants, museums, a theater and the restored Cosmopolitan Hotel.
I like this little, General store but wanted to put it in a nicer setting. The original in is Comments, below.

These are the Mail Rail trains stored and abandoned in the storage area to which no one now has access as the key to the tunnel has been lost!
The Mail Rail tunnels were used to transport mail all around London on a network of automated underground electric trains. It opened in 1927, and only ceased service in 2003.

A former small shop with a much faded store sign at the front and, at the side, a fading sign for Cottee's Passiona, a popular passion fruit flavoured soft drink now marketed by Schweppes (another Australian local brand fallen into the hands of a multinational!). I took this on. a very early morning walk. PS I read somewhere that Passiona had actually been discontinued but can't seem to verify this.

After wandering somewhat aimlessly around the Barbican (It's a big place!) we stumbled upon this open space. Whilst the photograph speaks of emptiness and an absence of people, I wasn't so at peace. As we walked we came across a group of youths who really put me on edge. Even though there were lights on in a number of the windows, it felt as if we were alone with this group. Maybe if they had started, no one would have come to help.
So, I stood taking this photograph, not enjoying the empty space but shivering with nerves.
